What would you serve with a bbq turkey dinner

We have a bbq hut. Our lovely BIL and SIL are coming up pre Christmas for a pre Christmas weekend. BIL is a great cook and loves bbq so he is cooking and prepping the turkey. I’m in charge of everything else.

Help, I do a brilliant traditional Christmas dinner but bbqs don’t really shout out roast potatoes and sprouts. (Do they)

Any suggestions what should ‘everything else’ include?

I would do it as if it was the Boxing Day meal, so jacket potatoes, cold red cabbage, salad, coleslaw, saute potatoes, that sort of thing. You could also do pigs in blankets still.

I'd do some salad sides, like a Waldorf, a coleslaw and a potato salad, also prepare some corn on the cobs to throw on the BBQ. Sorted.

Are you smoking it? We're planning on doing that this year and currently coming up with side dishes!

I love American style biscuits, so maybe those, but I'll need to find a good recipe, some nice Coleslaw, bbq sauce, maybe a cheese fondue, (which isn't a traditional bbq side in any way, but I do love a fondue!), some nice crusty bread maybe some popcorn shrimp?

Totall random suggestions I know!

Ooh I’m liking these, Christmassy salads are a brilliant idea. We did a cheese fondue last year, I may have put too much wine in, I had a cheese hangover

I'd choose dishes that would be different from the traditional Christmas food you will be having during the holiday...
So things like Sarladaise potatoes, popcorn cauliflower, aubergine gratin, battered onion rings, green lentils with diced bacon, large butterbeans in fresh tomato sauce.
I might add a mild and creamy potato and spinach curry, or a spicy Moroccan cous-cous with apricots and pomegranate seeds.
