I still read to my kids (9yo twins) at night. I'm not sure how long that us going to go on for, and I would love to have a Christmas book to do with them this year, specially if this is going to be the last time. Have you any recommendations?

The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher.

Hetty Feather’s Christmas

Matt Haig Christmas books
I read to my 9 year old and we’re currently loving The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. It is set at Christmas.

Oh also The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (more about the time of year but also features Father Christmas)

Christmas books I’ve bought my 9yo this year are Tinsel and Diary of a Christmas Elf and she’s also getting the Christmas Pig (Jk Rowling’s new one) from GPs. She also read The Christmas Carrols recently and loved it. It was very funny apparently!

101 Dalmatians (the original!)
The Children of Green Knowe

Both set around Christmas

We’ve just read the Christmas pig - we loved it !

The Christmasaurus books are great, and there's a new one out. We are planning to read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe this year.

We are just finishing A Girl Called Owl, which isn't exactly christmassy but is very wintery and fairytale-like (and had a great story) and I think it would be a nice Christmas book.

My DC love all the Matt Haig ones, and DS9 has just read The Christmas Pig and says it’s the best ever!

Another vote for A Boy Called Christmas and the sequels by Matt Haig; my 10 and 6 year olds both adore them.

A girl called owl is a beautiful book but I would save as winter rather than Christmas.

The lion the witch & the wardrobe if they don't already know it.
Tinsel: The girls who invented Christmas is great fun written by the same author as Witch Wars & Bad Mermaids.

FWIW I still read to my bookworm 14 yr old so you may have years left Grin
