Where can I get this arty stuff in time for Xmas?

My son is nearly 3 and is just getting into painting and playdoh etc. I've bought him a big 'art chest' for Xmas ( a big plastic crate I've packed full of paints, crayons, colouring books, an easel etc).

I really need:

  1. a big roll up mat I can put out to protect our floors, which is easy to wipe clean

  2. a couple of wipe clean aprons (for him - and maybe one for me, too, actually!).

I've looked in all the usual places - Woolies, Argos, Mothercare, ToysRUs, John Lewis, GLTC, ELC - no luck.

Any ideas?

thanks!

You can buy plastic coated fabric tablecloths by the metre from decent fabric shops or even some kitchen ware shops.

In fact you would probably be able to get a childs apron or tabbard from a good kitchen shop too.

I'm surprised that ELC, Woolies etc don't have aprons -we bought some "smock" style ones for arts and crafts from Woolies

For the mat. try going to a haberdashers and buying some of the plastic tablecovering. That way you can get the size you like (and maybe even a design to match your room!) I'm sure I saw aprons in Asda. also try Adams.
