Christmas Eve - What to cook!

So my DD is 3 this year and my DS will be 9 months old, so I really want to put in a Christmas eve tradition.

We have Christmas eve boxes, which contain new Christmas pyjamas for the 4 of us, yummy Munchies and a Teddy for the little one, as we qo sit down and watch a Christmas movie before laying out milk and cookies and reading the night before Christmas.

However I'm stuck on what to cook for dinner!
I want it to be a yearly thing, where we eat around 4pm.

What does everyone else cook or does anyone have really nice ideas?

Gammon and macaroni cheese here

Another vote for glazed gammon - I used to cook it on Christmas Eve to creat ham leftovers that will be required in the days ahead, then I hit on the idea of creating creating a meal at the same time. We have it as ham egg and chips usually, but have also tried it with macaroni cheese, which I might do this year as DDs will prefer that.

We always have crispy duck and pancakes don't know why it started but it's a firm tradition now.

We generally have M&S party food, fizz and open one small present each. Play a game and watch a film.

When they were very small we enjoyed Christingle at a local church with their school friends.

Mine are much older but I've ordered a huge sushi platter and we'll have cocktails with it Smile

Very rare takeaway here, usually Chinese. It’s traditional now Grin

Actually, with eldest’s family here on Christmas Eve this year, it’ll probably be a traditional Christmas dinner this year.
