So the best ideas I get are from hearing what people have already bought, or are planning to buy their own dc. I know this one can be a bit controversial… (You’ve bought so much! You’ve bought so little! You’ve bought babyish things!) I’m just hoping that aside from that I can be nosy get ideas 💡

My DC threw me some curve balls at the weekend so I’m having to move my lists around a bit and hold a couple of things back for birthdays!

DM - M&S snow globe gin, hand cream and a Metalbird (split with DF)

DF - Metalbird (split with DM) and something else but not sure what yet.

DH - whisky glasses (requested), whisky and two books (Richard Osman and Dave Grohl)

My siblings and I don’t buy for each other…we only buy for their children. I’m making up gift bags for my teenage nieces containing Christmas shower steamers, fluffy sock and chocolate. Another niece is getting a mug cake book and festive mug, younger nieces are getting Twisty Pets.

DS(13) - ear buds, v8 engine model, oodie type thing, chilly bottle, bundle of books, sweet hamper and stocking. Will probably get one more thing but not sure what yet.

DD(9) - Lego Friends magical funfair set, mannequin styling head, oodie type thing, Hype rucksack, personalised necklace, bundle of books, sweet hamper and stocking.

DD(3) - keyboard with stool, Hope the rainbow husky, parrot puppet, onesie, bundle of books, sweet hamper and stocking. Might get some craft bits too.

PIL - bottle of gin, Spicery lot and calendar of DC.

BIL/SIL - Spicery kit

BIL - belt made from recycled bike tyres

SIL - pretty bangle.

DP has so far got Lego, smellies and chocolate

DD2 - baby annabel doll, accessories from aldi e.g. wooden cot, cloth nappy changing set, bottle and cup for the doll. Melissa and Doug ice cream counter.

OP the hogwarts play set, is that the new castle one they have in Smyths? Is it any good? I’ve seen it and tempted for Ds(7) but not sure if it’ll be like the other play sets we’ve had and just end up being for the dust fairies to party on!

TheGirlWhoLived · 16/11/2021 12:25

Yeah @IsThisIt2021 it’s the one where you can add extra rooms and things, like potion class or care of magical creatures. It looks good and doesn’t fall apart like Lego! The box is huge though! So I expect it’ll be quite sizable

To be honest she isn’t really into toys much any more but enjoys playing with dd2 still, so it’s sort of between them. It was on her list though!

@CoffeeChocolateWine I've just bought the recycled belt. What a fab idea thank you x

ChoccyJules · 16/11/2021 22:34

@CoffeeChocolateWine So have I! Fab idea for uncle who used to race bikes :-)

CoffeeChocolateWine · 16/11/2021 22:58

Ahh great! So happy it helped! The reason we’re buying it for my BIL is because I bought one for DH for his last birthday and he loved it so much he wanted us to get one for his bro! Always a good sign…imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…or something along those lines!
