Stocking fillers for kids that aren't plastic tat?

Aside from books, socks, gloves and sweets any ideas for gifts from Santa that won't lead to me accumulating more plastic rubbish? I'm totally stumped!

Bath bombs or bubble bath, cuddly toy, Christmas cup ( which can be packed away with decs for next year), fairy cake mix packet

Knickers, socks, fruit, bubble bath, baby bels, a couple of coins, ornament for the tree....

Honestly, you can stick as many "necessities" in there. The kids will love them if they've come from FC.

I theme it! We’ve had the year of cars where he got lots of hot wheels, colour change cars and a musical icecream truck which I massively regretted! Then there was a year with sea creatures, wee wooden ones from Tenderleaf. This year is stationary, hole punch, washi tape, notebook, pencils, ruler. There’s always chocolate and an orange too.

Bubble Bath
Character Flannel
Toothbrush
Piece of Favourite Fruit
DVD (from charity shop, they don't know any different!)

Expanding flannels
PJs
Character pants or socks (everyone in our house receives socks in their stocking)
Books
Magazine
Little Lego sets
Stationery (pencils embossed with names were a particular hit)
Travel hairbrush for DS2 who was obsessed with it
Bath toys (wind up ones were a big hit as are foam letters - I pronounce so much jaw aching nonsense when they’re learning phonics)
Water bottles
Melamine plates with favourite characters
Seeds and related gubbins
Exciting toiletries (colour changing bubble bath was a big hit)

I did try this - but baby DD’s expression even at 18 months at receiving a toothbrush and some bibs/toddler pants was such that I never tried it again 🤦‍♀️🤣

Sorry if repeating

Books
Cuddly toy
Bubbles - my kids never get bored of bubbles!

KevinTheKoala · 20/11/2021 16:08

I got fairly small stockings so that I'm not tempted to buy more just to fill it, and I put in bubbles, sweets, a small game each (top trumps/a Peppa pig matching game), a colouring book, Crayons, a little wooden spinner, a kaleidoscope and bubbles in them. We use stockings to keep them distracted while I make breakfast so it's good to have a few toys and activities to do.

Oh and I need to put oranges in them on Xmas eve too 😂 that part is very important and the thing my 5 year old looks forward too most! (not that doesn't get oranges every other day of the year if she wants them)
