DD has had various Victoria’s Secret and Body Shop body sprays, Vera Wang Princess and Marc Jacob’s Daisy but wants something different this year. Our local Debenhams has closed and she works at the weekend so getting to an out of town department store to try some is more tricky!

Can anyone recommend anything she hasn’t already had?

I was wondering about Kenzo Flowers or Issey Miyake?

What do young people like!?

My early 20's daughter has asked for KayAli Deja Vu for Christmas, you can buy miniatures for trial purposes but it is blooming expensive.

She also likes Decadence by Marc Jacobs and Bloom by Gucci as well as Daisy also by MJ.

Glossier

Appuskidu · 15/11/2021 12:51

Thank you for all of the replies-have just been searching. I have to say that some of these are so expensive!

I think I’d rather buy one that was £30-£50, than £80-£100, as if she loves it and has all lovely happy ‘it’s my 18th’ associations with it but can never afford to buy it again, it would seem a shame!

The glossier perfume is only £45 and that's such a trendy brand with your daughter's age group.

Kenzo Flowers can smell pretty foul with the wrong body chemistry. Safer options /‘crowd pleasers’ amongst teens I know include Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, Philosopy pure grace (and others in that range). Gucci Bamboo and Tiffany also seem popular.

Gardeningcreature · 15/11/2021 12:55

Dd likes Rhianna ones too and Jimmy Choo.

TheWeeDonkey · 15/11/2021 12:56

Daisy is lovely and fresh I quite like Lady Millions too.

EvelynBeatrice · 15/11/2021 12:57

Next have some great options and you can get a few handbag size sprays for five pounds each to test them out. The new Candied Flowers has some of the same powderiness of La vie est belle. Eau nude is supposed to be a dupe for Black Opium. Summer sun is imo a better dupe of Ester Lauder’s Bronze Goddess.

Perfume is SO personal that I think your safest bet is going for a sampler set rather than one bottle of something - Chloe would be a good shout.

EvelynBeatrice · 15/11/2021 12:58

Estee!

justaweeone · 15/11/2021 12:58

Tommy girl is a lovely fresh everyday perfume and waaay cheaper than my usuals (MJ Daisy, Miss Dior). I've tried the Next ones & one does smells lovely and the bottles are cute but doesn't last at all on me - small ones are good stocking fillers.

WhyWhyWhyMum · 15/11/2021 16:27

£3 (incl delivery) for 3 samples and you get a 10% discount code for next order
