Christmas themed work dress up

Ive just heard that my place of work, large shopping centre type, is requesting that all staff wear a Christmas themed outfit for work early next month on one day. And Im rostered on that day. Its a promotion day with specials & Santa etc etc.

I hate dress ups/costumes with a passion & am struggling to think of something that wont make me look like my user name but shows to the bosses that I have made a small amount of effort.
Years ago someone I know wore a bow/ribbon in their hair & said they were an f-ing present. But I sort of get on with the bosses & dont want to sour our work relationship.

Im not new to the job but I think Ive avoided this day in other recent years as Ive been rostered off.

Some staff apparently have worn stripey stockings & green mini skirt with a green top - like an elf (not for me haha), & as its summer here I dont need layers of clothing to keep me warm, its not the chilly North Pole down here)

Help. and Thanks :)

Make a skirt in a Christmas-print cottony fabric, in a style which suits you?

Christmas themed jewellery/headband?

Make/modify a big sash with 'Happy Christmas' on it & wear it over your normal clothes?

A Christmas-printed T-shirt?

Had a quick look on Oz ebay, seems promising...

Black dress, tinsel belt, Xmas earrings

Could you wear a red and white stripe top and go as a candy cane?

Black ordinary clothes, antlers headband, tinsel belt.
Job done.
Also, kill your company, I also hate dress ups.

I like the present idea!

I would do that - ideally in red and white so you can make extra claim to festivity. Maybe a bow in your hair, or a wear a very wide ribbon as a belt.

Go dressed in casual clothes but have pickets full of glitter, when questioned pull out a handful and blow it in their face. Ta da, your a snow globe.

If your hair is long enough to put up in a bun, turn it into a Rudolph the red nosed reindeer by adding a red pompon and antlers.

I saw a black dress with little Christmas trees. It was less than £20 from one of the vintage / 1940s online stores. I can't remember which one.

I agree with either wearing black & accessorising with tinsel or maybe black trousers/skirt, a red jumper & a white scarf. Say that's how Mrs Claus would have dressed if she worked in a shopping centre.

Yep. Normal dark clothes but with sparkles, tinsel etc temporary affixed. Unless you can find something with conifer foliage printed all over it... unlikely! I always feel sorry for staff in shops etc who have to do this.

hi everyone, some great ideas here thanks. I like the black dress/outfit with a tinsel belt idea & think this is what I'll do - & I could do the bow in the hair too as a bonus.

But I laughed a lot Halloween Grin at the glitter in the pockets one - that would probably see me getting the sack though if I wandered about like one of those cute flower girls with petals, but instead it's me, the not so cute Christmasfatfairy 😂
