Earlier this year our garage flooded and my Christmas tree wasn’t overly salvageable.

I’m looking at getting a balsam hill one?

Are they worth the money??

I’m hoping I’ve attached the pic of the one I’m looking at.

Any help much appreciated

posted this elsewhere, I want this one please

I’m in love with my BH tree, OP. Also got mine in a random sale in the middle of July one year and have had no regrets. It’s a 7ft Vermont spruce and it’s GORGEOUS. Most people seeing it for the first time think it’s real. Mine is also pre-lit with lovely soft lights which removes the faff of untangling fairy lights. It required some fluffing but this literally took me about half an hour to do, and they provide gloves and a fluffing tool to do it, and there is a video on their website.
Buy one! You won’t regret it…

I have a BH silverado slim and am very pleased with it. It is solidly built and I expect to get many many years out of it. I love how realistic it looks and how little of the 'tinsel' stuff it has on it. It gets better year on year as I get better at fluffing it up properly. It always get compliments from visitors.

I have no hesitation in recommending them and would consider them again when I next buy a tree. I searched instagram hashtags to help me choose between the different styles, easy to find photos if you search by the name of the tree

We've had one for a few years. I'm not sure I'd get one again but of course they are so expensive it will be years before I can replace it. I love the fact that it is pre lit but it always looks a bit sparse in spite of fluffing. It also seems smaller than I expected so we should have gone for a7 foot one

This subject has come up many times. Lots of people recommended specific trees in this recent one: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/Christmas/4359996-Balsam-Hill-Trees

@LifeInAHamsterWheel

This was ours last year, can't wait to put up the decorations this year!
Omg.. Your tree looks absolutely fabulous. I have tree envy now 🌲

Have a look at Christmas Tree World, their trees are gorgeous (we have the 7ft Mountain Pine) and a good price too. VERY realistic shape too.

DialSquare · 13/11/2021 21:26

I really like mine. It's a European Silver fir. Here it is last year,

I have my eye on this one, and the Ultra Mountain Pine. I saw it in a magazine and looked it up.

I have 5 Christmas trees from BH. Four 7ft pre lit flat back trees, which are great space savers and very bushy, and I've just invested in a 9ft pre lit slim tree for the hallway of our barn. Can't wait to see it up.

To help me decide on which tree to get this year BH sell a tree branch pack which has branches from all their trees so you can compare before committing. Think it cost me £30 but they gave me the £30 off the tree I subsequently ordered. If you are sitting on the fence OP which whether to commit, get the pack first.

Xmas tress can be a huge investment, the 9ft one cost me over £600 so I wanted to be sure of my choice.

I've personally never had a problem with any of my trees or the service I received from BH.

@greenshinyspoon Your tree is beautiful and looks very realistic!

We have gone backwards and forwards on trees, we chose in the end B and Qs thetford tree.

Milliways · 17/11/2021 07:06

Can anyone with a 7’ Silverado slim tell me the diameter of the stand? We have one on order and I would like to get a wicker skirt from Dunelm or similar at a fraction of the cost of the BH ones.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 17/11/2021 10:20

Another vote for Christmas Tree World. We got the Ultra Mountain Pine. Hands down best tree ever. I looked at BH and wasnt taken with any of theirs. They all look the same to me. Too triangular and uniform. The branches may look real (no more so than mine though) but the shape of the tree isn't to me. Massively over priced too. You're paying for the name.

TrickyD · 19/11/2021 08:33

I and both DSs have trees from Christmas Tree World, and are very happy indeed with them. I was wondering, however, if anyone has any experience of trees from ‘Charlie’s’ ? Their advert keeps popping up on my FB page. They look good in the photos ( but so do B Hill’s trees until the lights fail) and are very cheap.
They are never mentioned on here.

ChristmasTreeBee · 19/11/2021 15:25

So I bit the bullet and ordered one paying on PayPal.

Ordered it on the 14th and it arrived on the 16th, took it out the box and made sure the lights worked etc it’s a really lovely tree I am pleased I did it. Ordered the Scandinavian Spruce.

Obviously needs some fluffing etc but so far so good.

Slightly peeved as they now have a Black Friday offers on and some of them have been dropped by a lot of money.

If you didnt buy yet, just my opinion.. Not close to worth the cost. Our 2k centennial fir looks super glossy like it was sprayed with clear varnish. It screams "I'm made of plastic". Branches are so very flimsy and bendy that you have to let a glass blown ornament rest on the branches below it or hang it far into the branches. LED model doesn't have a power outlet on top so if you have a lighted tree topper you have to run an extension cord down your pricey tree. The LED's are unbalanced: the green is really bright while red, blue, yellow are much dimmer. Finally not sure if it bothers you that its manufactured in China.
