Can anyone help find a dinosaur for DD?

DD is coming up for 13 and struggles with anxiety. She has a small plastic dinosaur (called Ralph) left over from a kit that I think came from Early Learning Centre about ten years ago.

Ralph fits in the palm of her hand and goes to school with her, she finds it comforting to fiddle with him when things are noisy in the classroom. He is looking a bit the worse for wear now, the end of his tail and both of his hands have snapped off and it would be great to put one or two new dinosaurs of similar size in her Christmas stocking. She has put 'dinosaurs like Ralph' on her hinting list...

I've been searching online but haven't found anything of the right size, or they seem to have loads in a pack. I wondered if anyone out there might have a small plastic dinosaur that they could send to a new home? Happy to pay postage (we are in UK). Thanks for reading Smile

Can you post a pic of Ralph please?

RhinestoneCowgirl · 12/11/2021 22:45

Here he is... Doesn't need to be exactly the same, but similar size is key.

I have a small pterodactyl somewhere.

Maybe about an inch high? Maybe 3 cm

We are very likely to have some, will have a rummage tomorrow in toy box and get back to you.

Have you looked on ebay or fb marketplace (or similar)?

My nephew's son is going through a Dino phase and they keep him topped up by buying them second hand.

Colbumbo · 12/11/2021 22:51

Ralph is adorable.

Knifeandfawkes · 12/11/2021 22:51

If any of mine are any good, let me know the numbers and DM your address Grin

Could you try the schleich dinosaurs? Some of them are massive but they do smaller ones too and they're really nice as dinosaurs go. I've bought one for DS stocking, I'll dig it out in the morning and photograph it so you can see the size.

outofservice · 12/11/2021 22:52

DD had a similar size dinosaur, it was an eraser from a museum gift shop. Google dinosaur erasers, they aren’t as nice as Ralph but there’s quite a few.

Orarewedancer · 12/11/2021 22:56

I know you aren't really looking for a set but these are under a tenner with an extra 10% off. Should be the perfect size and can give her ones to choose from?

Thanks @knifeandfawkes I think 2 and 4 look good thank you. I will pm.

@MichelleScarn he's sort of rubbery plastic, his tail is a bit flexible

I did wonder about Schleich animals, think I need to get into a RL toy shop and handle some. We still have Schleich zoo and farm animals in the loft and they are lovely.

Thanks for all your suggestions, much appreciated! I'm off to bed, night all Grin

Another vote for schleich dinosaurs, they have them in store at Smyths if you have one of those near you.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 13/11/2021 15:32

I'm coming down in favour of Schleich I think, and there is a Smyth's superstore fairly nearby, but thanks for other suggestions.

I was lol-ing a little at your post @sashh as we have a 3D printer ourselves (well DH does). Sadly I think a 3D printed Ralph would be rejected by DD for not feeling right...
