And they've given me no clues or requests whatsoever. Please help!

Big ticket items already got:
11yo:
Phone
AirPods
Bigger bed

7yo
Bike
Scooter
iPad

I'll do usual books, bath stuff, chocolate but what to actually wrap?!!

@toadstool32

Hmm I'm a bit nonchalant about a switch. We have an Xbox which they never play with.

Regarding my op, the things I've listed they have been given for previous birthdays, Christmases they are not for this year! I haven't bought anything yet!

11yo is going on 16 so the likes of squishmallows and Lego wouldn't go down well.

I can tell I'm going to struggle this year

A switch is very different to an xbox.

Portable, lots of nice games. Just dance, animal crossing, pokemon games, mario kart, cooking mama.

The Xbox is more shooter, RPG, racing. I wouldn’t have anything I wanted go play on an Xbox.

Tailrunner · 13/11/2021 13:18

Are they arty? Over the past few years my eldest has asked for and loved her light box, drawing tablet, art books and fancy pens, papier bullet journal again with fancy pens, nice sketch pad.

Apart from the art stuff she likes nice perfume, make up with fancy brushes (so she can try to copy looks from glow up), surfing lessons, vouchers for indoor sky diving and her colour changing bluetooth speaker/alarm clock.

chillimice · 13/11/2021 16:53

Was stuck for DD11 as well - her birthday is a few days before Xmas and she's getting a desk, chair and a few bits to make her bedroom look nice. But she hasn't asked for/wants anything else!

So far I've got her lots of tiny food, a big cuddly bear and some cuddly PJs. She's got a switch, bike and scooter and enough toys etc. already, lucky girl. I wondered about an echo dot with a smart bulb or LED lights or metal or bat detector.

At 7 she liked things like a keyboard, Lottie/OG dolls, an art box, kinetic sand (but she's always been young in age..)

ButterflyBitch · 13/11/2021 19:05

@RussianSpy101

Ninetendo switch with just dance. Lego Roller blades / heelies Instax camera Fitbit Concert tickets Bag & purse Jewellery Bath bombs Perfume Toys - what is the 7yo into? Stocking fillers for 11yo- Coloured phone cases Coloured charger wires Bluetooth speakers

A bed is a very bizarre gift for a child for Christmas.

I got a desk a present once and I was made up. Twas in simpler times though.
PennyWus · 13/11/2021 19:34

My dd is 11. She has loved recently:

  • bamboo pencil pots and desk organiser
  • supersoft fuzzy fever cover and pillowcase
  • set of fine line pens
  • new overnight duffel bag for sleepovers
  • grown up looking travel jewellery case
  • throw throw burrito game
-- nail polish in various colours
  • denim bum bag (very useful for carrying phone)

@toadstool32. 11yo is going on 16 so the likes of squishmallows and Lego wouldn't go down well
Please tell that to my DD age 20, who seem to think she needs every Squishmallow ever made.

Jumpingintochristmas · 13/11/2021 20:03

11yr old
Trainers
Activewear
Laptop for secondary school
New bike
Tickets to a concert
Night away and money to shop

7yo
iPod to listen to music/play games on the go
Trampoline

stacedyer · 13/11/2021 21:13

My 7 year old likes Barbie and OMG dolls, also asked for a squishmallow.

For an 11 year old going on 16 I'd get some perfume and nice earrings if she's her ears pierced. Maybe a designer tracksuit or hoodie.

toadstool32 · 13/11/2021 22:13

@ButterflyBitch we've done her room up and she wanted to ditch her single bed and have a more grown up double. Is it really that odd? Hmm

OP posts:
ButterflyBitch · 13/11/2021 22:40

Nah I don’t think so Toadstool. If it’s what she wants then 👍🏼

Ostagazuzulum · 14/11/2021 07:25

TeenMinusTests · 14/11/2021 08:05

Sounds like they have a lot already, so:

Experiences.

Mummyoflittledragon · 14/11/2021 08:30

A lot will change when your dcs go to secondary school. My sporty dd suddenly only wanted branded everything. Nike being the top brand (Nike pro leggings). River Island tote for school perhaps.

What about board games? labyrinth.

Fernando072020 · 14/11/2021 08:37

Is the 11 year old into clothes and shoes yet? What about a bag? Or is she not quite at that stage yet?

NellieBertram · 14/11/2021 08:39

My boys are 11 & 7 and are getting
Switch games
Books
Clothing from their favourite TV show (Pokemon & Stranger Things)
New trainers
Baking kit (from Craft & Crumb - they have lots of very fancy ones)
Board/card games
Bath sets/bath bombs
Novelty socks
Stationery

Stokey · 14/11/2021 08:49

My Dd1 just turned 12. She got her ears pierced and so I bought her a nice jewellery box as a birthday present. She also got tickets to go and see Hamilton which she's obsessed by, a load of books and a room diffuser - there's a nice wooden one in TK Maxx that you can plug in.

She keeps trying to steal my bags so think I'll get her a bag for Christmas. She also loves stationery, Paperchase is a real favourite, & something sparkly to wear. It is a hard age though.

MrsFoxyplease · 14/11/2021 08:58

For DD (10.9yr) we have-
LED strip lights
Adidas tracksuit and t-shirts
Puma leggings and t-shirts
Air Force one trainers
Chromebook
Ariana Grande cloud perfume set
'Stitch' PJs, slippers and hot water bottle
Cluedo boardgame

InvincibleInvisibility · 14/11/2021 09:07

Mine (boys) are getting
Tickets to the play that goes wrong from GPs
Bike accessories
Day out to a theme park
Kitten (well its for the family but they offered to have fewer presents as an incentive for us to get one)
Pjs
Nice black wallet each from other Grandma

10 year old
PS4 game
Youtuber merch (clothes)
Top trumps
Various books

7 year old
Nerf gun
Detective set
Books
Top trumps

Thats it. Im trying to be mininalist so no plastic tat/one day wonders

SnowSurprise · 14/11/2021 09:39

so I bought her a nice jewellery box as a birthday present
MIL gave DD(9) one for her birthday and she loves it. She doesn't have much jewellery but she call it her treasure box and keeps all her important things in it.

Since she's grown a bit, DD's sports bag no longer fits her shoes and a large water bottle, so I think we'll upgrade that for her.

I normally refuse to buy character clothing, that's a good idea!

2ndMrsdeWinter · 14/11/2021 10:04

Anything from lush/body shop usually goes down a storm with 11 year old girls. Think body scrubs, shower gels, moisturiser, bath bombs etc.

When my dc was that age, I bought her a toiletries bag with her own personal luxury wash things she could take to the shower/bath with her. She loved it and it’s become a bit of a ritual.

Ellmau · 14/11/2021 10:26

If 11yo has a new bed what about some nice new bed linen? Unless you've already socked up for years to come.

ObnoxiousFeminist · 14/11/2021 10:33

My eldest two daughters are 13 and 11.

They’ve asked for -

  • Beats Flex
  • Tarot cards
  • Multiple items with their star signs on
  • Mood Octopus
  • Crystals
  • iPad and pencil (to share, they’re both into digital art)
  • Sage green hoodie Grin
  • Doc Martens boots
  • Lego Elf House (which we will open on 1st Dec and build through the month)
supremelybaffled · 14/11/2021 11:05

When my dd was around 7, we got her a revolving glitterball light thing on a stand for her bedroom. Went down a storm when she had sleepovers.

AliceMcK · 14/11/2021 13:46

I suppose it depends on what they like.

My 7yo has asked for an invisibility cloak and gamesmaster book for her main gifts. Other things I’ve got (she’s very into Harry Potter) quill set, some hp note books, house pens, I got her a HP gift set from boots, some of the things are too old for her so I’m swapping those out and replacing with some hp bits I picked up from primark. I’ve also got her a signed photo of Emma Watson and a fake oodie. She’s asked her DGPs for an art set.

What about a smart watch for the 11yo, fake oodie, I’m not sure what they are called but a screen to put on a laptop or computer that you can draw on. Is she into art or science?

Soubriquet · 14/11/2021 13:52

These two are supposed to “hit” presents this year. I have them both for my 8 year old dd

magic mixie £69.99

purse pet £24.99
