For some reason I have managed to invite people over on three separate days () between Christmas and New Year.
I need to serve 'proper' food, rather than small eats, but would love to steer clear of quiches and the like.
Any suggestions for things that are relatively straightforward? So far all I've come up with is chilli and jacket potatoes......

thanks.

A Christmas Ham?
The one Nigella did the other day on TV looked nice.
She boiled a large ham in ginger ale (yes, really - about 7 bottlers of the stuff, I think!) and when it was done she chucked a jar of ginger preserve (or you can use marmalade and some ginger powder) on the top, smothered the whole ham in it and baked it in the oven until golden and melty. Served with roasted butternut squash chunks with pecan nuts sprinkled over the top (she also crumbled up blue cheese on top, but I thought that was overkill).

Thai green curry? Very simple if you get the spices ready mixed. Or an Indian curry? I am usually craving for something spicy and not traditional after Xmas, to be honest.
