My 8 year old has requested a camera for xmas. I originally thought a kidicam but the reviews aren't great. I'm now thinking a Polaroid type, does anyones dc have one and are they any good?

My eldest daughter has requested a photo printer, so any recommendations for that would also be appreciated. There are so many!

Not Dc but I have an Instax Mini 9 and i love it. only issue is you dont get a lot of film in each pack, 10 shots per pack and packs of film can be up to a tenner each so if they are likely to take lots of unfocused daft pictures i wouldnt recommend.

Agree that Polaroids quickly get very expensive when you factor in endless packets of film.

You can get a basic digital camera for a similar price to a Polaroid and probably have more fun with it (especially if DC wants to learn a bit about using the settings for different things).

I've just bought dd the Instax mini lynx printer so she can print off her k-pop Picts straight from her phone. Sorry I cant tell you anything about it other than it was £110 and £10 for 10 shot mermaid film and £40 for a 50 shot film pack.

My DS had an instax mini and although it was fun initially because you get a physical photo, because the exposure is so iffy you get a lot of no use photos. We sold it in the end.

He now has a basic digital which we have found to be great and gets loads of use out of. He really enjoys taking photos though so sort of depends what your DC is interested in?

Canon Selphy CP1300 is a good little photo printer. Easy to set up and use

our DD is a little older at 10 but she's got a Canon Zoemini which will s a digital camera which prints pictures, but you can choose which pics to print, so no duff photos being printed and wasting expensive film. you can add writing and stuff on to the photos
it's not the cheapest, but it is really good
