I have a 9 year old girl to buy for and am clueless as to what that age group likes... Don't know what she's particularly in to but I years gone by have bought crafty sets or cute stationery. Is that sort of thing still okay for a 9 year old? How about claire's? Any help appreciated!

My 8.5 yr old loves junk stuff from Claire's. Also stationary set would be a bit hit too.

My 8 year old would love anything from Claire's. Also Smiggle for stationery and I see slightly older girls at her school with lunch bags etc from there.

My 9yo loves Claire’s, nice stationary, craft sets or anything creative (bath bomb making, sewing, buttonbag knitting kit, friendship bracelets, candle making), baking, slime. Also card games like Exploding Kittens, Taco cat goat cheese pizza (somewhere like that!)

Overpriced tat from Claire's is a big hit with my 9 year old. You can get clip on earrings, they have a decent selection.

Claire's is definitely good at this age. Also fancy pens and notebooks. You can get fancy pens from Works or Poundland, so they don't have to be expensive Smiggle stuff. It's all the same crap really, but they do love it!

Jesus I wish my 9 year old was this simple.
She wants apple air pods an Apple Watch
Nike trainers & Jordan trainers.

A cosmetic fridge! Ffs

My 9 year old has grown out of claires she'd love anything arty or Japanese and maybe Lush snowfairy stuff.

They have grown out of Smiggle at this age.
Notebooks - we have dozens! Always in party bags. Although a really nice lockable journal seems to be appreciated a bit more.

Things that were popular in my DDs group at this age were:

  • Create This Book, very popular with an arty girl who loved YouTube art channels in lockdown
  • watercolour pencil set
  • Harry Potter stuff, Primark is good for that. A nice Scratch Art book for Fantastic Beasts was also well received.
  • cinematic/led lightbox
  • a book - surprisingly well received. If you pick something you can always check if she has read it.
  • a nice cosmetic bag, there are some lovely marbled pattern ones you can buy, with some bath bombs inside, or something from Body Shop or Lush inside
  • a wire photo clip holder, Sass&Belle has a nice heart shaped one
  • a super soft fuzzy duvet set or blanket or cushion.

Sorry this was ideas for @SpamIAm

I think I was caught up in the excitement of the Elemis deal! That’s my treat sorted!

Loads of ideas here, thank you all! Will try and pop in to town next week and pick something up :)

An odd one, but my 9 year old recently bought a cactus in a lovely pot for her room. Led candles are also good.
