Food advent calendar

Morning all

Any suggestions for a food based advent calendar? It will be for myself, DH and DD 13 to share and I've a budget of £40/50. Some chocolate would be lovely but I'd like some variety if possible.

I did look at Degustabox however I tried one of their regular monthly boxes recently to see what kind of kind of contents they had and to be honest was a bit underwhelmed. Most items I've seen in supermarkets so no real novelty factor and when I totted up the value no way was it the £25 it claimed to be.

Aware that for anything special my budget may be unrealistic Grin

Popcorn shed that meant to say

I think I've seen a cheese one too

There's also a marshmallow one and a jam one I think (Bonne maman) plus the bigger food ones like Fenwick or Liberty

I've made my own this year, mostly food but including some activities (panto, charity shop challenge, etc). I included all our usual festive favourites, like florentines, nuts, crisps, choc Santas. I liked the look of something like a Degustabox calendar but I know what my family will enjoy so it made sense to wrap stuff that will be eaten/used.

Lidl are going to be doing a 12 day cheese calendar, Sainsbury's do one as well and there are some on Amazon.

Some great ideas here, thanks everyone.

I'm leaning towards a DIY one too Wink

A Bonne Maman one is lovely, if you enjoy their jams and spreads.
I got the Degustabox, and had a peek at the table of contents, I'm happy with it. Their monthly boxes vary in selections, some this year were excellent, with products which I haven't seen anywhere else.

I’ve got a cheese one and a tea one both from Ocado and not very expensive.

Whittards do a hot chocolate for two one that looks lovely.

I’ve seen the Bonne manan one…quite tempted 😊

Yogaandcocoa · 12/11/2021 21:46

Whittards hot choc is not nice IMHO and the calendar is expensive
