Gift of someone who loves Christmas and counts down all year?

A have an absolutely lovely friend who has been a huge support this year. We don't usually buy gifts and so it's just a small token really.

I'd love to get her a mug or something for someone who counts down to Christmas all year, or who adores Christmas etc..

I've had a google but haven't found anything so I thought I'd ask the wonder that is Mumsnet.

What about an Emma Bridgewater Christmas range mug? Classy.

Personalised ornament with all her family members' names?

Ponoka7 · 07/11/2021 20:17

What's your budget?

jocktamsonsbairn · 07/11/2021 20:19

The Christmas chronicles by Nigel sister - it's a lovely warm
Countdown from 1st Nov, full of lovely stories and recipes. There's a thread about it.

What's your budget?

If it was me, I'd love something for my tree. Some special baubles....

WhatonEarth1 · 08/11/2021 06:35

Is this the sort of thing you’re thinking of?
Or this one perhaps?

ShellfishLove · 08/11/2021 06:49

I sound similar to your friend, as I adore Christmas. I absolutely love Christmas books or magazines; my lovely sister usually gets me a new Christmas book each year and I am always over the moon

Geamhradh · 08/11/2021 06:59

I was going to suggest the Nigel Slater book if she enjoys cooking.
Other lovely Christmas books:
A Child's Christmas in Wales by Dylan Thomas (it's a beautifully illustrated children's book, but as you can imagine, the language is superlative)
A Christmas Compendium
Or, a special decoration? Something vintage? Or one of the one-off baubles? A Christmas candle?

How about a perpetual "weeks to Christmas" calendar?

www.suck.uk.com/products/52-weeks-to-xmas/

I bought this as a gift in similar circumstances and it worked well as it's palatable to non-Christmas-y people too and can be used all year round.

Second the Nigel Slater Christmas Chronicles

Or Advent - German Bakes book is gorgeous

A lovely snow globe?

riotlady · 08/11/2021 07:37

A lovely set of baubles?

yikesanotherbooboo · 08/11/2021 08:45

I would like some special table ware or a very special Christmas bauble that I can bring out every year with its memories.

RedHot22 · 08/11/2021 08:49

I bought a couple of personalised tree decorations from Etsy last year. One wooden and one ceramic star.

CrazyBaubles · 08/11/2021 13:40

I'm a Christmas lover who counts down to Christmas.
A great friend of mine bought me a beautiful Christmas planner for my birthday (in the summer) which I love.

Another idea may be a calendar with a countdown, but a bright and funny one - you can get a photo calendar using wowcher for very little at the moment. You could fill each month with a little countdown meme / picture and in most of them, you can add messages on certain days so you could have random messages like 'we're halfway there' and 'it's Christmas next month' etc.

I have this;

rachelellen.co.uk/seasonal/christmas/christmas-gifts-stationery/christmas-organiser/

And it fills me with joy all year. It’s a five year one, so will last a while.

Christmas scented candle

Recommend Yankee or Self Care Co

EssexLioness · 09/11/2021 19:11

Oh I love Christmas and am exactly the same as your friend… I would love a beautiful snow globe or that planner that @Sn0tnose linked to, or maybe a really special set of baubles, although I think that would be quite taste specific
