Stella (NOW or Sky TV) also written by and starring Ruth Jones has a similar feel and has at least one Christmas special.

I didn’t love the Christmas special and thought Nessa’s character was softened too much, and came across needy.

I love it when Mick asks what time Eastenders is on. That was the year Archie Mitchell (also played by Larry Lamb) was killed on Christmas Day in the Queen Vic. Genius!!!

No, I didn't love the last Christmas special.

The one bit that I did chuckle at was the debate about favourite service stations.

Nothing will ever beat the original Christmas special (ie 2008). TV gold!

I love The Office and Extras Christmas specials. Peep Show is a good one too.

I love it! Watching the Gavin & Stacey Xmas special (2008 one) is one of my traditions of December, I put the kids to bed and either have a festive hot choc or a glass of something and watch it with the tree twinkling.
I just think it captures a normal household Christmas perfectly and gets me right in the spirit.
I did like the new one but it doesn't beat the original.

The Royle Family episode when Emma's parents Roger and Valerie come round.

Love the G&S Christmas specials. I agree with PP that the 2008 is the best.

Miranda’s Christmas specials are also funny and I’d recommend them.

Did you watch Click&collect that was on bbc a couple of years ago? They repeated it last year. I watch that every year along with the g&s Christmas specials.

I love that episode! With nothing for Bren in the bran tub (remember them?!) and Tony organising the brass band to play for her.

Like pp's I love the original 2008 special but but saving it for when the tree is up, don't think we'll be rewatching the newer one. Love the Still Game Christmas specials but we are scottish not sure if that's as much of a thing elsewhere!
