yoto v alexa with spotify

DS 6 is looking for a yoto player for xmas after seeing it at his friends house.
he already has an echo dot connected to spotify for nursery rhymes, childrens podcasts etc.

does anyone know what a yoto would do different for him, would it be worth it ?

All I know is that our 5 1/2 Yr old loves her yoto, it's been a bigger hit than we thought it. She likes the screen and pictures, and the fire card has been popular for pretend camping under her midi bed den. She enjoys choosing a card before bed. Had looked at a children's panda Alexa, but the downstairs Alexa doesn't respond to her voice very well. Sorry I've not been to much help.

Do you know what it was he likes about it particularly?

I was half considering a yoto for my 6 year old ( nearly 7) as he also has an Alexa with Amazon music and also have an audible account. I find he uses the Alexa alot for music but not really for listening to books - I guess because it’s harder for him to know what to ask for maybe. So I can see a yoto might be worth it for books?

I actually decided against it in the end as he’s started reading by himself more now and I still read to him, plus the yoto is quite a lot of money. But I can see how it might be useful for the books element!
