Hello,

I picked up one of the IKEA kids kitchens in the bargain basement and plan to "do it up" for my DS for Xmas.

( I will post this in the Xmas thread too )

How would I go about decorating it? I have no idea where to start 🙂

I will post a photo of what I think looks fab.

Thank you in advance

Who are you doing it up for, you or your child? Im guessing you will both have different ideas of what looks great.

We did this a few years ago. My recommendation would be invest in good quality spray paint and spray primer.

Prime all pieces and then spray paint with your chosen colours. Get a metallic gold or silver for the hardware and spray these (they’re plastic so the spray paint does try to run).

Buy some sticky backed plastic for the worktop on Amazon or similar in a big enough size for the worktop.

For the back of the kitchen, get a large piece of foam board or card and buy sticky tiles (again Amazon is your friend) and staple or glue this to the back after it’s built!

I’d say ours cost approx £35 on top of the kitchen and we personalised the backboard with DS’ name and he absolutely loves it and still uses it 3 years on.
