Small gifts for work colleagues

Hi All

I like to include a small gift with the Christmas card for each of the people in my team (there are 12 of them) - but really struggling to find something this year. Last year I got each of them a Christmas decoration that was personalised with their name. I'm not against a decoration of some kind this year, I think it's quite nice to get something to hang on your tree but just can't find anything so far (decoration or otherwise). It needs to be quite inexpensive as it's only a token really and there are 12 of them - any ideas?

xx

Keyring? Lottery scratchcard in a little bag?

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 08:44

What is your budget per person? (People's views of inexpensive vary so wildly!)

noscoobydoodle · 01/11/2021 09:24

How about Hotel Chocolat mini Xmas cracker or a mini Xmas tree or pointsettia?

mam0918 · 01/11/2021 10:18

as a token non personalised thing to a large group a Candy Cane is my go-to, instantly Xmas but no obligation to keep tat and cheap to buy.

Finger torch
Booze minis

languagelover96 · 01/11/2021 10:29

Nice pen?

Last year Anthropologie did 20% off for Black Friday. I bought these mugs for £8 each for my team, filled them with Lindor balls and wrapped them in cellophane and added a piece of dried orange and a handwritten tag. They all use them every day.

Agree with @RockingMyFiftiesNot need to know the budget per head

Something edible.
Anything else is plastic tat and will be binned.
I personally don’t need another pen or any more decks for my tree.
Please save the planet 🌏

I have a box of mini Molton brown bubble baths ( can’t remember how much I paid but was under £30), I’m going to give them as individual tree presents.

RuthW · 01/11/2021 12:16

I do this too.

I'm a crafter and over the last few years they have had:
Decorated rolo tubes
Wish bracelets
Lucky pants keyrings
'Chappy' christmas chapsticks
Stocking for tree wit chocs

foxgoosefinch · 01/11/2021 12:53

You can get multipack boxes of hot chocolate stirrers or hot chocolate spoons in different flavours - they work out around £2-3 each. A nice token gift?

Violetparis · 01/11/2021 12:58

Face masks or hair treatment masks

DentalWorries · 01/11/2021 13:33

I have a group of friends who I would usually do secret Santa with except one of the group has asked that we don’t this year as they don’t want to spend money on Christmas.
I’ve ordered personalised Christmas cards which I’m planning to put a £1 scratch card into for each of them but you could do it with just a standard Christmas card.

BashfulClam · 01/11/2021 20:04

My boss gave us all scratch cards last year. I win £10 so I bought him a box of roses.

entrytohr · 01/11/2021 22:06

I'd go something like a wish bracelet too. They're fairly flat so would fit in a card. Something like this maybe?

Small box of chocolates. Lindor balls are good price on amazon.

DockOTheBay · 02/11/2021 06:37

I like the idea of buying a multipack of e.g. posh shower gel and splitting them. Molton Brown is lovely and last year their mini shower gels went down to under £20 for a 10 bottle set. Also nice and gender neutral.

Otherwise I would go for consumables - chocolate, wine or spirit miniatures, fudge

Mumshappy · 02/11/2021 06:41

There are hot chocolate bombs for £1 50 in Sainsburys. This is my plan for colleagues.

Ooh was this before Christmas? Black Friday? I'm going to look out for these!
Randomness12 · 02/11/2021 07:02

I second something edible, a lot of the things mentioned on this thread would end up in the charity shop or bin if I received them. I usually do hotel chocolat for my team. You can get mini ones or slightly bigger ones - the bigger ones have 3 chocs in and I can usually find a discount code. This year they have a box of brownie batons each, they were in the sale a few weeks ago so £3.60 each instead of £7.50 and I’m buying for 25 people.

Gemi33 · 02/11/2021 07:09

Thanks so much for all the ideas (apologies for disappearing, yesterday became unexpectedly busy!).

So last year, the bauble cost about £4.50 each - there were also a couple less people in the team then too. Ideally I'd rather not go much above that. Getting a pack of something which you can split is a good idea. When I was thinking about decorations I saw some cute, quirky ones but it works out quite expensive and I haven't found any in a pack that could then be divided out that are really nice!

The wish bracelets are nice but I'm not sure the men in my team would be keen...
