I'm planning to take my DC to London to see the Harrods Christmas department and the Christmas lights. I'm thinking Regent st and Convent garden. Where else would you go? Are there shop windows worth seeing?

Yes to all the lights that PPs have mentioned.

Fortnum & Mason and Liberty often have great Christmas window displays

I dont know if you are able to travel a little/pay but if its lights youre after, the wetlands centre in Barnes is holding an 'illuminate' event. It's worth checking out.

Ijustreallywantacat · 29/10/2021 20:26

...failed reading comprehension there. Obviously wetlands centre isn't a shop!

The streets around 7 Dials near Covent Garden are lovely!

Get on the no 73 bus down Oxford Street towards Marble Arch and then stay on it until you get to Hyde Park. You'll see a good chunk of lights from sitting on the top deck. From Hyde Park get on the 74 to South Kensington as it'll go past Harrods & the Victoria & Albert museum. You can stop there for a coffee at the gorgeous V&A cafe.

Thank you so much everyone!

And especially @FancyNan - you've planned our trip for us - thank you!

@UndertheCedartree you are very welcome! I've spent many hours more than I care to remember with my bus mad dc criss crossing London on the bus. I know most of the central London routes so I'm glad to be of service & hope you all have a lovely trip. Book your train tickets and hotel room now for the best deal.
