Is it happening this year does anyone know?

I havent heard of anything sorry, they have reduced some items for half term tho - ps4 lego games, among us toys and such seem to have gone down in price when I picked up bits the other day x

No, it's usually a few weeks ago. I went in on the day it usually starts and there wasn't even a single reduction in store on any item. I asked if that was because they are gearing up for the sale and they said no, it's because they are expecting to have major toy shortages before Christmas so they won't be doing it.

Oh no! That's terrible news. I had a few big items in mind but I'm not paying full price. Plus I'm sure some of the items have recently gone up in price? (I thought they had done this as a sale was coming so the savings look better). But I could have just mis-remembered some of the prices. Some retailers are still having decent sales. I got something in hamleys reduced from £40 to £32 but then 10% off too so £28. It was still £40 in smyths.
