Home Bargains recently opened in our town. We made a quick visit but were in a hurry so no time to explore the Christmas tat tasteful items beyond picking up Gingerbread candles plus meringues - delicious and much better than M&S or Tesco.
What is worth looking for there, please? Also B&M, we have two of those and are awaiting a third which will move into our closed M&S site.

The red velvet initialled stockings and sacks, stocking fillers and sweets.

TrickyD · 23/10/2021 12:23

Our lot already have their special stockings, but thank you for the reply. I was hoping for suggestions of amazing things hard to find elsewhere.

The sell the delicious Koka noodles! Tom Yum is the best!

It’s a bit hit and miss I find, and one person’s treasure is another person’s trash. I think they’re both stores where you go in with no real plan of what you’re looking for, intending to spend no more than £10 and you come out with a trolley full of things you never knew you needed.

My local B&M has got some absolutely beautiful red glass baubles in at the moment which wouldn’t look out of place in John Lewis.

They're both great for Xmas themed bath bombs without spending a fortune like you would in lush.

Home bargains have nice smelling candles I love the gingerbread ones.

I picked up some lovely wrapping paper and decorative bits from b&m like wooden topper/tags and string to wrap with.

B&m is also good for affordable revolution beauty gift sets.

Aside from
Christmas items, I get all of my household cleaning stuff their and toiletries.

When you have a spare hour I'd go take a leisurely walk round. Love b and m and home and bargain.

Gingerkittykat · 23/10/2021 18:23

B and M have a good range of American sweets which are priced a lot lower than imported candy in Tesco or specialist shops.

RAFHercules · 23/10/2021 20:13

Home bargains dies the best non stick baking paper I've ever found and it's about 80p.
Also great for toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Pink stuff cream cleaner and Dr Beckmans carpet cleaner.

Tweezers with an integral light, £1.49. B&M, I think.

TrickyD · 24/10/2021 09:27

Those tweezers are a brainwave! Perfect for DGD's stocking. Thank you Fiddle.

Home bargain candles are much nicer than b&m.

The Christmas candle range is so nice especially the gingerbread one.

katienana · 24/10/2021 15:03

Marshmallow hot chocolate toppers and chocolate bombs. Fleecy blankets. I've had decent Christmas decorations from B&M over the years, a wooden Christmas train, set of 2 nutcracker, wreaths.

Home bargains has a good baking range and sells nice craft kits. I recently bought letter shapes for cutting out icing which looked really good on my sons birthday cake and they were about £3!
