SIL asked me what I had bought her ds for Christmas so I told her and she said 'oh no, he's got loads of similar stuff already. Get him this instead' pointing to toy in catalogue.

So MN jury, what would you do?

Give the present with the receipt. If she doesn't like it, she can take it back and exchange it.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 10/12/2007 14:32

Change it.

agree with dragonstitcher - like we've got so much time to go and re-buy presents....

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 10/12/2007 14:32

Change it if it was convenient for me to do so

MrsBadger · 10/12/2007 14:34

like Soupy I'd change it myself only if it was no or little hassle

Sparkletastic · 10/12/2007 14:34

Change it if you've got time. Mind you I'd be tempted not to buy anything next year. But then I love to nurse a grudge....

WestCountryLass · 10/12/2007 14:35

Give her the toy and get her to change it! Cheeky!

sensiblehead · 10/12/2007 14:38

Wrap it, give her the receipt and tell her, you don't have time to phaff around. She can aexchange now or later, either way, don't tell her next year

Finished Christmas shopping ages ago (polishes halo) so as not to have to brave the crowds. Feel a bit mean though if it's something he really doesn't want.

Personally I would change it. I mean you don't want a wee boy to be disappointed by his aunts pressie on christmas day. Next year you can check with your SIL before you buy to save the hassle of having to return the pressie. Maybe, I am just to reasonable as I alway ask what my nephews/neice want in before I buy.
