What do you think are they more a preschool music player. I thought maybe some Disney stories for it as we haven't had those on CD

No way. They're marketed for ages 3 to 7. Ideal if you don't want your child with a "proper" device yet.

I think they are expensive for what they are and will be quickly out grown.
I'd be tempted to look at a plain speaker and an MP3 player (either on tablet / old phone / ipod / mp3 player ) to down load too.

I'm leaning towards a yoto for my 3 year old as I think they've more longevity and 'do' more things. I don't think Tonies are marketed for 3-7, most people I know who've got them recently have got them for toddlers/2 year olds - the kids use them longer, absolutely, but they're clearly targeting much younger kids than 3 as well.

If you do decide to get one, on WHSmith you can get one for £47.46 with free delivery using codes 9516004 and SAVE5 which is a pretty nice saving off the full price!

My 5 year old has one (as does my 3 year old) they're both used nightly to listen to a story, or one of the lullaby themed music ones, once they've been read a story before bed. I find that it helps them to wind down in my experience. They both also sometimes take themselves off to their rooms & listen to them at the weekends.

@Mumumumu I can't find it on WH Smith's .. I'm on my iPhone maybe the search is rubbish hmmm

Interested in this code as well. Fab deal

Merriwicks · 22/10/2021 00:17

The code works for the yoto but the save5 code won't work for me. Thanks though! Even 10 quid saving is good

AppleButter · 22/10/2021 00:27

5 is about just right. 3 and 4 are slightly too young For the longer stories. The music/song ones are aimed at younger kids I would think.

@Mumumumu I used two codes to order Tonies and audio book figures for both Dc from WHSmith .. saved £94.21 .. I hope they don't cancel the order because that is epic !!! The bundles with the figures on the Tonies site were sold out for the Disney ones £99 with 3 stories plus the creative figure. I have also seen some older things like diary of wimpy kids, so think he should get a couple of years out of it.

I couldn't search Tonies on their mobile site had to Google search it and WHSmith together but managed in the end

So got two Tonies and 10 books ( 5 each) for £195.59

Get yourself a cheap (or second hand) cd player. A load of cds from the charity shop or Facebook market place and you've got yourself a knockdown version of something that essentially does exactly the same thing.

I used both codes a few days ago & the Toniebox & characters just arrived, so you should be fine 😊
