Any good ideas out there? In the past DP and I have always bought each other extravagant presents. But for the past few years, we have had alot less money and i don't work so dont actually have any money that is "mine". I dont have an allowance but DP always buys me what i want and gives me money when i need it. But things are really tight this year because of starting the business (so hopefully this time next year, rodney!). So for the past few years we haven't bought each other anything and i hate it. Its lovely to get pressies for DDs and we will do that (although buggered if i i know what we are going to get DD2, DD1 wants her hair done at a ridiculous cost so thats her sorted!) and xmas is always nice and dd is 2.5 so will enjoy it loads im sure. But i really want to get something for DP, i just havent a clue and how can i ask him for money for his own present, especially when we are strapped for cash and ive told him i dont want a present, when of course i do, but we are strapped for cash, this could go in circles. I could borrow money from my mum, although i dont want to do that as she wont accept it back and that is almost like asking her to buy him a present when she is already really generous to him (he deserves it).
So, how do i make him something, or show him how special he is to me - ive given him such a hard time over the past two years and i want him to know how much i love him. It is really taking the edge off of xmas for me that i cant spoil him.
