Could anyone recommend any interactive family board games or alternatively family games on the ps5 or switch for a moody teen and parents!

What do you have already and what sort of things do you like?

Fun games are the Exploding Kittens/Unstable Unicorns family; also Throw Throw Burrito. We also like Cluedo and various sorts of Trivial Pursuit (Harry Potter v popular). There’s a game called Codenames which is great fun as well.

We like games where we are a team, so buy escape room games, these can be board games or online.

Settlers of Catan, competitive but collaborative

Settlers of Catan isn't collaborative in our house...

The taskmaster board game is actually hilarious. You have to be prepared for a bit of mess/wastage, but it is ingenious. I never actually want to play it (I'm a miserable housemate...), but still always find it funny when I have to.

We liked Mysterium last year - kind of like a spooky version of cluedo and pretty interactive. Moody teams might like the spooky themed artwork?

Camel Up is supposed to be a right laugh - you all participate in a camel race.

Zatu Games is a great independent retailer of games, often cheaper than Amazon too.

We got Outsmarted last Christmas and it’s been a firm favourite all year and still going strong. It’s a board game, but the questions are via an app and are always being updated. You set everyone’s age group too, so adults, teens and children have tailored questions, so you play on a level playing field.

Outburst

Seconding the Taskmaster game, it's absolutely brilliant.

BigSquareRoom · 17/10/2021 12:43

Agree with Outsmarted. It was a start up thing last year so I was a bit sceptical but it’s great. My parents can also join in from another country

BigSquareRoom · 17/10/2021 12:44

We also like some of the jackbox games like Drawful
