Comic Con ticket suitable gift for a 8 yr old?

Please educate me, as Sci-fi and comics are totally not my area of knowledge!

Would an advance ticket to the (February) London Comic Con appeal to/be suitable for a mad keen Marvel/ Dr Who/ Star Wars fan?

Anyone's kids already experienced it?

Is there enough on offer for that age group to properly immerse themselves in, or is it mainly for adults, with a few add-ons for families with small children?

He'd be accompanied by 12 yr old brother and Uncle, going on the (maybe less busy?) Sunday.

Yes, there is so much to see, even in the queue to get in. Definitely dress up. The costumes are brilliant.

@bluesky,

Ah, thanks, that's good to know. Ha! If cosplay dressing up is involved, I'm VERY glad it's his Uncle taking him, not me...

😂
Perfect Uncle activity I'd say

We recently went to one with Teens and I would say it’s ok for younger children too.
Any of the slightly more dubious elements will probably go over their heads

I took DD to comicon for the first time when she was 8 and she loved it - I think there'll definitely be enough for him to enjoy.

Has anyone been to this one and the MCM comicon and can tell me if there is a difference? I want to get DS12 tickets for Christmas too but hadn't thought about this one, we've only been to MCM before. Thanks!

@Hoppinggreen, @chillimice, thanks for that. Useful info.

Looking quite promising now as his present!

I, too, would be interested in hearing of any MCM Comic Con pros/cons (see what I did there?) versus London Comic Con.
Am very new to all this.

Anyone here whose kids have visited both?
