Need ideas for very lightweight stocking fillers for an 8 month old?

We're going to be abroad (in the snow) for Christmas, so whatever the boys are having on the day itself will have to be light enough to not totally blow our luggage allowance. I've done ok finding things for 6 year old ds1, but need a few things for 8 month old ds2 - more so that ds1 doesn't ask why Santa has left him out than because he'll actually understand it, although it'll be a bonus if it provides him with something to play with while we're away.

So need some ideas - it doesn't have to be particularly durable, just light, not too bulky and not likely to get totally destroyed if it's crushed in transit. I'm not even especially bothered whether it's officially rated suitable for ds2's age, as he won't be left to play unsupervised anyway - so things like an inflatable beach ball, balloons, finger puppets, etc are ideal. Any other ideas?

I have bought a bag of plastic fruit & veg which I am going to wrap individually so DS2 has little parcels to open but they are inexpensive and I guess they wouldn't weigh much either!
