Why are all weighted blankets grey?

I'm searching for a beige, taupe, natural coloured one, seen any?

I totally understand this frustration. It did my head in! I ended up with a green one with a bamboo cover instead of the obligatory grey velvet everywhere else had to offer (occasionally navy). The colour is nice but goes with nothing in my new home. 🤷🏼‍♀️

John Lewis do (or did...) a nice pale dusty pink one. Might not fit your scheme quite though, but at least it's not grey or gaudy!

I’m guessing that most are a darker colour so they don’t show the dirt so much - weighted blankets are not the easiest to wash regularly!
You can get removable covers for most of the higher quality brands but if you don’t want that, a quick search on Amazon for “weighted blanket beige“ brought up:

I found a few different ones but went for grey with little stars eventually. I figured that if DS really loved it then at least it wouldn't clash with any future decor choices or look too babyish.
(Normally Grey would be my last choice for anything though, I agree there weren't great options.)

I've got a dusky pink one... I don't know where I got it now but label says Brentford's

Thanks everyone!

Because everything is bloody grey at the moment - driving me nuts.

Everything is grey at the moment. Took DS to choose a bedroom carpet, he'd decided on teal. Went to the very good local shop and they had thousands of samples in grey, beige, neutral etc. but not one single teal.

That’s from Online Home Shop, I have it too.

Does anyone know if the Brentfords one can be washed? It says it can’t, but how rank is a blanket that can’t be washed (we have cats and kids, other people are probably neater). Any chance it could be washed on a low cycle? Or the edges reinforced in blanket stitch?

deeni · 16/10/2021 13:39

I wouldn't ever use one without a few duvet covers anyway - they'd be buggers to wash, I'm living in denial of having to do that at some point with our old creaky washing machine Grin

Have a look at Bali Living. They have a light one in the ‘cool’ range!

Sorry Baloo. Bloody autocorrect.

Oh I haven't tried to wash it. Sorry. I have it over my regular duvet and don't have kids or small children so it just doesn't get washed. I did drop some egg on it once and juat dabbed it
