Is my christmas tree dying????

Bit of a strange smell in my living room this morning, more like weed than pine tbh, we think it may be the tree.
We didn't cut the bottom off once we had bought it like I saw suggested after we had already put it up.
Have I f**ked it up and made it die???

Well, it has been cut off from its roots so yes it is dying. And not cutting off the end will probably mean it won't last as long as it might have done otherwise, but the real sign that you are going to end up with bare branches by Christmas Eve is if there are loads of needles on the floor. A few sprinkled about is normal but a carpet of them is a bad sign.

It's in water, yes. Not really a huge deal of pines anywhere though.

When you say weed do you mean the illegal drug kind? Maybe someone in the house has been indulging?

If DP has taken to smoking weed then he has had a personality transplant! If it's the kids, well they're doing bloody well rolling at their ages!

Did the smell go? I have a strange-smelling tree too. And now I come to think of it, it may be a little like weed...
