Hi looking for a reasonably priced beauty advent calendar for my early teen. She is just starting to get into make up/ beauty.
Any recommendations appreciated

There is a Macmillan one in Boots which looks lovely but £42.50! Body shop ones are £55 upwards too

Worriedmum42 · 16/10/2021 09:59

Thank you
I must have missed the Macmillan one as it now £85.
Will keep looking

Superdrug have the Revolution Advent calendar half price from £80 to £40 at yhe moment

Worriedmum42 · 16/10/2021 10:42

Thanks
I was just looking at the Revolution ones. Are they a good brand?
I don't even own mascara and have never really worn make up so feel well out of my comfort zone here Smile

Worriedmum42 They actually have some really good products for the price point. Perfect for a teen.

If she likes nail varnish Ciaté have one out

I would go for Benefit. Bit on the pricey side but their products are very good quality and will last a long time. I almost exclusively used Benefit make up as a teen (now on to Chanel eek!). Mac is more expensive again but also very nice, it’s what I moved on to at Uni! But Benefit was the gateway drug lol

That Benefit calendar only has 12 days and 4 days are mascaras and 3 days are brow pencils. Who needs that many mascaras? That's really shit.

Does your early teen use cruelty free / want to use cruelty free?

TreXX · 17/10/2021 12:20

Holland and Barrett one is not cheap at 45 but I had it last year and it was fantastic.

MyDcAreMarvel · 17/10/2021 12:20

ASOS is great for a teen

Yes

In that case, Revolution or the Holland and Barrett one are a good bet!

I think both are cruelty free and vegan

XiCi · 17/10/2021 16:13

I had the holland and barrett one last year and loved it but am in my 40s and wouldn't have used any if it as a teen. The Revolution one would be your best bet, or ASOS

doadeer · 17/10/2021 16:34

Try Pretty Little Thing or Asos. They target the teen market

doadeer · 17/10/2021 16:36

Also glossybox or birtchbox good for that age

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/10/2021 19:01

Holland&Barrett won't have a lot for a teenager ( I bought one last year to plunder for my DD Advent that I make up for her ) but maybe 33% was for a more mature skin ( or cococonut which she doesn't like)

A lot of the Superdrug ones have the Leaping Bunny
Body Shop (though thats more skin/body than make up)

NYX is, cruelty free and not sold in China (but owned by L'Oreal , it's a bloody minefield )
