With "help" from the DSes. They are 9 and 7 now, so should get it, but no, it looks like an explosion in a tinsel factory. I tried hiding the tinsel, but they found it. there are no decorations round the back of teh tree, their argument being that no one can see it, so at the the front each branch has about 10 decorations on, DS2 is at this minute draping gold bead things round it which MIL sent last year.
AND, I can't find the star for the top, and can't think why it's not in the box with the other decs. it should have been put away with them last year

Lol! I've just put mine up, and 5 year old ds was 'helping'

He managed to eat 6 chocolate tree dcorations in the process

Now chocolate tree decorations puzzle me. Why is it that I can buy some and hide them, then put on the tree when the DSes are in bed, yet they know in the morning that they are on the tree and eat them?

They can smell them at 40 paces!

I put our tree up and decorated it and then the ds's got to it and it looks a bit of a state now. They keep pulling thte goddamn tinsel apart so that by christmas day it will just look like i wrapped a bit of wire round it.

At least this year I don't have any mindee to helpfully re-arrange the tree. last year I had 3 under 5s and the bottom half of the tree was stripped bare of decorations every day.

I am genuinely amazed mine has survived nearly 24 hours, was sure DS (13mo) would find a way to tip over the table.

We may be getting a 6 month old cat (kitten) before xmas, can't see the tree surviving that.

aww saltirehangingonachristmastree that was me a few years ago I even re-did the tree when the DC's were in bed (gaps, colours not right, nothing around the back, some branches so heavy they were dragging on floor but nothing on others)

Now I set tree up put lights on and let them at it! Its hard - I chew a nail or two but they love it.

thats why i do our tree and the boys put on the decs they have made or chosen
actually this year we found a teeny tiny real tree from sainsbo(it was a fiver) and it came with decs so they got to do that one
