Alternative to mince pies

This year I want to help my DS (3½) bake mince pies for the man in red. However none of us are very keen on them.

What fillings would make a good alternative? Current favourite is black cherry & chocolate.

Biscuits instead?

I made alternative ones with flip pastry and then my own mix of dried cranberries, grated apple and cinnamon - I don't like normal mince pies so just throw in what I fancy

Apple or apple and blackberry. Both make good pies and I’d rather either one to mincemeat.

Individual pecan or pumpkin pies?
