Unicorn Roller skates

Hi I’m starting early with this as I think they will be hard to find and have to be just so for dd. (additional needs)
She would like unicorn roller skates. They have to be a size 4 (adult), must have a unicorn on somewhere and ideally rainbows as well. They can be blades or skates although skates will be easier I think.
I’ve looked extensively so far and the only ones I can find are on Amazon and are called unicorn skates but don’t actually have unicorns on them- I’m not sure why they call them that!!
I’ve never bought skates before so does anyone have ideas about which are safe ish and where I can get the ones she has set her heart on.

On this one of the ponies is a unicorn

I'm an avid skater and those dolls kill boots are ammaaaaaaaazing!

MrsPnut · 14/10/2021 13:46

Those Dolls Kill skates look really cool.

@Alakazam8 Speak to Mel at Roller Girl Gang in Leeds or Kitty/Gaz at Double Threat Skates in London.
They are all really knowledgeable and passionate about skating so if there are skates out there with unicorns then they should know about it.

I find roller blades easier to learn than roller skates. I assume that is what you mean by 'safeish'? When using roller skates, there's a tendency to fall backwards.

Instead of buying roller skates/blades with unicorn ons, another option will be looking for ice skate boot covers. They are covers you put over the skate boots. Then you can find unicorn sewing patches and sew them on the covers.

Thank you for those great ideas- will ask her about the dollskill ones but think they will be too ‘ponified’ for her. I will also try asking the experts mentioned,
It’s great how mumsnetters can find something so niche!! (Hopefully)

another option would be to get plain coloured skates and put on some unicorn stickers like
www.amazon.co.uk/Unicorn-Stickers-100pcs-Pokemon-Motorcycle/dp/B0995PFWMB/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=unicorn+Skate+Stickers&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1634220103&sr=8-1

Alakazam8 · 14/10/2021 15:23

I suggested stickers to her but she doesn’t want that. May be the only way if I can’t find any- there’s unicorn everything else!!!

Unicorns are hard to find! This website does some cool rainbow ones though:

Alternatively this etsy shop does iron on shoe decals which could be added to a pair of white skates?

They even do unicorn horns:

Just to update, dd has surprised me and likes the dollskill pony ones and I’m going to get some unicorn shoe charms (which I didn’t know existed) to make them extra ‘unicorny’
Thanks so much everyone- now to come up with ideas for the rest of my list!

I have some of these! www.moxiskates.com/products/rainbow-rider
You could always get unicorn patches to run the laces through to sit on top :)

GreenLunchBox · 17/10/2021 01:11

The dollskill ones look like My Little Pony!
Ah, the nostalgia

Alakazam8 · 17/10/2021 07:36

Thanks @Kyliealwayshadthebestdisco that’s a very cool extra for her.
Shame I can’t change the thread to unicorn gifts…..
