he doesnt wear a watch, but is very fussy about watches. i have bought him many in the past. the one he did wear got broken.

What about a collage of photos in a frame which reminds you both about some of the great times you've had together, with a blank frame you can stick new pictures in each time you have a special day going forward? Or is that too cheesy? Like your other ideas as well.
