Gift cards for boys

I have lots of nieces and nephews to buy for for Xmas and usually give a gift card but like to present it in different ways.
In the past I have done sweet boxes with cinema cards or PlayStation cards. This year I am giving the girls their gift cards in makeup bags which were on 2 for 1 so they only worked out a couple of quid each but am stuck for ideas for the boys. I have a 7yo, 8yo and a 13yo to buy for. Any ideas of a cheap token gift to go with the gift card?

Pencil case?

If the younger ones are into sports...

you could bulk-buy some small sports ball printed foiled chocolates, divide them up in clear containers and hide the gift card within?

The teen may be more sophisticated.

I like your previous years' methods, btw!

Just remembered: friend bought a cheap wire maze puzzle thing to hide her Uni age son's gift card in. Might appeal to the 13 yr old, as a bit of fun?

We did this with cash last year and the parents mum suggested it..... just a giant bar of galaxy and then an envelope with the cash in it. Can't go wrong.

*boys mum, I meant!! They were 16.

Maybe an more upmarket way for sweets? Small box with chocolate coins and the card underneath? We got this for DD with a voucher to get her ears pierced and the first pair of earrings.

It would depend on what the gift card was for?

Cinema- sweets
Costa - reusable cup
Trampoline park- the socks you need

Smiggle- pencil case

If Xbox or ps4/5 you can get wooden door hanger things in B and M for £3.99 that say “gaming in progress” type thing.

Thanks everyone. I ended up spotting some water bottles with initials on in B&M so I’m going with putting the gift card in there (haven’t decided yet on Sports Direct or PlayStation) but I like the sports ball chocolates idea too so might go down that route.

Hello OP! Can you please share what did you finally choose as a present?

SuperAunt08 · 14/10/2022 20:44

Hi. I found water bottles similar to attached photo with initials on, added a £10 sports direct voucher and filled with chocolate footballs I bought in bulk. Cost less than £15 each in total. For my nieces I bought makeup bags on 2 for 1 added £1 face masks and a £10 Primark voucher.

Another year I bought flat postage boxes in bulk filled with pick and mix sweets I bought from a whole sale sweet shop and added a cinema voucher.

I have 10 nieces/nephews to buy for bit always like to make a simple voucher gift a little bit more interesting.

not sure what I’m doing this year yet, suggestions welcome!

That's such a lovely idea @SuperAunt08! And you've given me some inspiration for a secret Santa gift for a hard to buy for relation who likes going to the cinema and eating sweets 😂

FlamingoSocks · 15/10/2022 07:39

Fab idea!! Was going to suggest popping into some sports/adidas socks (adidas vouchers always a hit here) in case that’s helpful for future years!
