Lemax Villages - How do you display yours?

If you have a Lemax Christmas village, how do you display yours? What do you use to add height like you see in the shops?

I've looked at the landscapes you can buy online but they don't look big enough to support the buildings! The platforms themselves look tiny.

My MIL has a whole village set up. She uses wooden platforms for hers that my FIL made and covers the whole lot with artificial snow etc. Looks beautiful and it’s become somewhat of a tradition for the grandchildren to help build it - then she fixes it after they’ve gone it’s beautiful but she spends hours planing it all out then setting it up.

That's so lovely! I'm hoping to do the same with our little girl as she gets older.

I'm wondering if styrofoam cubes would work just as well as the wooden platforms. Maybe worth a try!
