Teachers, your opinions please. Home made biscuits as present - thoughtful or cheap?

Am thinking of baking biscuits with DS for his teacher and t.a, then presenting them in Christmas tins. Do you think this is all right or would it come across as a bit stingy (ie we haven't spent much money)
