I’m looking for inspiration and I keep seeing posts about people who have done their planning or shopping. I even try to find the boots gift finder earlier and all I found was an advert for face masks and viagara.

So far got or planned....
DP - a weighted blanket, trainers, a new hoody, some tracksuit bottoms, some chocolates from hotel chocolat and will get him some lush...
Bro and sil- I usually just give them money and a Nando’s gift card as they are both super fussy.
Mum- she’s getting a Fitbit for her birthday in October which I had to then say was for Christmas too because she almost lost her shit that I’d spent so much money. But I’ve also got her a personalised calendar and I’m getting her a tshirt she has but in a different colour.
Sis is getting new trousers as she had a clear out the other day and realised she’s short, she’s yet to tell me which ones....
My dad and his family - probably money or gift vouchers, I haven’t decided which yet..
Uncles - lynx sets and usually some lily O’Brien’s chocolates...
DS13- gaming laptop, illuminated mouse, new mario party for switch which I’ve pre ordered.
Dd 9 - Lego friends, unicorn garden, mini brands.... and some others I can’t quite remember

YorkieTheRabbit · 07/10/2021 22:09

DP, so far I’ve only got him stocking filler bits, bag of jelly belly beans, rubber/silicone cable ties, l’occitane lavender soap, laptop cleaning kit, Taylor’s of Bond Street lavender shave cream

His daughter, Liz Earle gift set, Next beauty box, candle, will get some chocolate too

Her partner, Next men’s beauty box type thing, he like hotel chocolat stuff so I’ll get him a hamper from there

Their 14 year old son, I’ve pre ordered Gordon Ramsey, Ramsey in 10, cook book, he’s just started cooking and is enjoying it, a Vans hoodie. He like lynx and I’ll get him some hot chocolate bombs as well.

For dm I've got a seed box and a book.

Dmil is getting a Strictly ticket too.

Dnephew will get Mario Labyrinth and dneice is getting a resin craft set.

I have no idea what to get dbro.

I don't have many to buy for, just my parents, my DH and our children.

I think I will get DH a new wallet as his is starting to fall apart. Probably something golf related as he's a golfer - maybe a new top, that'll be his main presents and then some golf balls and tees to go in a stocking, along with some different bottles of ale.

My mum - a beauty salon voucher, a charm for her bracelet and probably some slippers!

Dad - another golfer so something for golf or a golf shop voucher if I can't decide.

DCs - still undecided! Have picked up a few bits for the younger two but not got anything for the older ones yet.

BearSoFair · 08/10/2021 11:09

DH will get a fancy hot sauce - it's become a 'thing' over the years. New dressing gown and most likely a couple of books.

DS1 - particular guitar pedal, DH is on price watching duites to try to get a good deal!
DD - Wacom drawing tablet. Maybe a ramen kit with the proper bowls, spoons, and chopsticks.
DS2 - Struggling a bit! So far a history of gaming book and Nasa space photography jigsaw.

MIL - no idea, we really need to start thinking soon as she's always hard to buy for!

My parents - Theatre vouchers and a book each.

No idea for nieces and nephews yet!

Sn0tnose · 08/10/2021 15:01

@mamatoTails Have you looked at Vice for your golfers? They’ve got pretty good reviews, especially for their golf balls, and are a bit more interesting than the usual stuff (am surrounded by golfers!)

If I don't count DD then it's just DH and our parents:

DH - some model train stuff plus I need to see what he has written down so far. He will get a calendar for his office plus a new mug as a joke gift.

My mum - a calendar with photos from DD. We send her the calendar with 4 photos and then add new ones every couple of months.
A jigsaw, some nice hand lotion, shower gel and Turtle Dove gloves and wrap. Her birthday is the week after Christmas so I need to see what goes in what wrapping paper.

In-laws: we ask for a wish, over the years it was tickets for a opera or theatre, accessories like scarves and hats, practical items like a handmixer etc. You never know what they are thinking about and as they treat themselves always it's impossible to guess.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/10/2021 16:31

@JumperandJacket what is the name of the book of odd places in London please? Might solve a birthday present challenge for me. Thanks.

MeatyRvita · 18/10/2021 16:47

Dh- hot sauce gift set, some sweets, a new backpack (mainly for work), a new shaver, the justice league Zack Schneider edition dvd and some new slippers

My mum- a new dressing gown, some perfume, a Makeup bag and some soap from lush.

Ds (age 4)- a vetch marble run, some books, a simba soft toy (he’s obsessed with lion king), a dinosaur jigsaw, a Spider-Man action figure and a big playdoh set. I’ve also got him a few little stocking fillers

That’s everyone I’ve got to buy for so I’m pretty much done apart from a few more stocking fillers for DS

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 18/10/2021 20:42

@JumperandJacket thank you

pinkksugarmouse · 18/10/2021 20:56

I only have DH & DD (19 next month) to buy for. My elderly cat doesn’t eat treats or play with toys. DH is very difficult to buy for. He is 75 and has everything he wants. I will probably get him a shirt and hope there is an appropriate book out. We both have a hotel chocolat box but that’s not a present as such.

DD has no particular wish for anything. It’s her birthday at the end of November and she had asked for art paper. Not posh stuff, she likes the paper from the Works. For her 18th she had a pocket watch (she’s a bit eccentric), bath bombs from Etsy and a Sherlock inspired T-shirt also from Etsy. I might see if anything on Etsy inspires me this year.

FireworkParrot · 18/10/2021 22:38

DH I've bought a lock picking kit and that's it so far! Ideas are a nice bottle of whisky, one of the metre long boxes of jaffa cakes, bamboo socks, coffee beans and a fire pit for the garden.

DM I've bought some cashmere gloves.

DF I've bought a cookbook from a chef he really likes.

DD (they're still little) I've bought new school rucksack, dressing up clothes, Playmobil, PJs, Jellycat amusable cuddly toys then bits for their stockings.

DSis I've bought a beauty box.
