cold hard cash

I get my lovely Polish cleaner a box of chocs or a scented candle. She gives me dodgy Polish chocs in return. Polish chocolate is.....different.

Yes please (DP is a gardener).Last year got a couple of bottles of wine and a tin of Roses from customers and they were all very gratefully received-although I'd prefer Celebrations if anyones interested.

Have 2 cleaners and will give them both money I think. One has been working for us for 3 years one day a week and we usually give her 4 times her daily rate.

The other one I am not too sure about. She works for 3 other people I know and I don't want to do anything too different to them. Must check.

Money for the gardener. I'm the cleaner so I won't get anything!!

Before our fantastic Brazilian cleaner gave us the sack, we used to give her cash. About a month's work worth. She, in turn, used to turn up on Christmas Eve with some wonderfully sculptured, edible Brazilian thing.

Cash for the cleaner, plus a token present (diary this year) and small presents for her two kids.
Was wondering what to do about the gardener as this is the first year I've had him, interested to hear what others do.
