Help ! Looks like Lapland uk might have to cancel r/e bad weather. Things to do near Bedgebury? or any other suggestions ?

We have a 5 hour trip tom to go to Lapland on Sun. Am now dubious with weather forecast that it may be cancelled.
Do i go as we have reservation at Travel lodge that can't be refunded at Hastings ?
Can you change Travel lodge reservation to another hotel?
Do we forget it and can you reccomend another santa experience as dc's only know they had invite to see Santa ?
We live in Lancashire.

theres a big thing on at the nec birmingham - not sure if its this weekend though - called something like winter wonderland
