I've ordered a 10 - 12 lb turkey to feed 8, all over 7 years old. I think 14 lb is a bit big, but it depends on the size of your oven and how much you like left over turkey.

We have a 10lb to feed 5adults and 3 children with plenty left over.

We usually get around a 12lb bird for family of seven - 4 adult and 3 child appetites. It usually lasts us about 3 or 4 meals.
