Hello,
Didn't initially know this young couple too well, but recently got very close and going to be godparents to their first child (a beautiful little girl, now four months old).
They don't have a huge amount of disposable income and are currently desperately trying to complete the house renovations they started before they knew she was pregnant. The house is still in a tip (no floor joists in several rooms etc etc) and they're trying to do it all themselves, so I thought about vouchers from B&Q or something, but then they'd know how much we'd spent, and given this is the first year we've given each other presents, I've no idea where to pitch it (plus we're on a bit of a tight budget too!).
We live five hours away from them, so offers to babysit etc wouldn't be that easy, and neither do we have any experience of a baby that young.
Any ideas from you clever folk?
