I'm looking to buy and receive garden related gifts this Christmas all being well, so any recommendations appreciated. We have our first greenhouse coming in March/April & I want to be prepared!

I've bought mil/bil or someone, some niwaki snips & a hori hori knife. Also some kanzen to arrange flowers which I'm taken with!

Other things I love are implementations copper tools & skytec pro argon gloves.

I'm very into evergreen plants right now as sorting the bed I look at daily & want it to be all evergreen! Yew & bay are looking good!

I bought this for my dad, but I found it for £8 on amazon shop.rhs.org.uk/books/garden-design/seasonal/rhs-gardening-through-the-year

There was a slightly similar thread that I just replied to with :

Gold leaf Gardening Gloves
Kneeler
Decent watering can
Grozone mini greenhouse
Selection of seeds, bulbs ,tubers depending on what she would like to grow
Hanging baskets/tubs
David Austin Rose
Decent long handled fork
Gardeners World Magazine subscription

I would add RHS books
Re evergreen depending on your soil how about a camellia, winter jasmine, euynomus , ceanothus concha, viburnum, sweet box, and perhaps some spring flowering bulbs

not evergreen but does have winter interest for the garden a weeping salix, or contorted hazel

David Austin vouchers
I love my heated propagator

Trug - I have a large classic wooden one and it gets a lot of use.
Planner/journal
Hand cream - Crabtree and Evelyn has a special Gardener’s handcream which is amazing but it’s £20. This gift set is a bit cheaper.
String in a tin

A decent secateurs eg spear & Jackson

bogeythefungusman · 04/10/2021 05:51

I would love David Austin vouchers, a really good pair of secateurs and a really good, strong trowel. I'm buying DBro a pair of DeWalt gel core knee pads after nicking Dh's to use in the garden - much better than a kneeler.

Knee pads is a good idea & I like the journal. Hoping I start keeping notes when the greenhouse comes!

Love David Austin roses but not much space left in our garden now!

I was going to suggest Nawamin snips, love mine. (We just on their site pondering which secateurs to get brother for Christmas too …)

Sarah Raven’s classic urn vase is fabulous if you like an OTT flower arrangement.

Whitney168 · 04/10/2021 18:41

FFS autocorrect - NIWAKI snips, obviously …

Oh, a nice Niwaki frog good to go with urn vase too.

Bontanics · 04/10/2021 18:55

I'd love a large decorative ceramic pot.

I recently discovered a company called Metal motifs - handmade metal bird silhouettes for the garden made in Devon. Have ordered the Robin for DH from baby DD.

The hori hori knives have arrived & are bigger than I expected. I like them a lot, highly recommend!

I bought myself a gardening belt this summer and it's been one of my best garden buys. No more putting the secateurs down and losing them, I've always got a bit of storing or some cable ties with me, somewhere to put my phone etc. I'd definitely recommend one for any gardener
