Cheap stocking fillers for boys aged 9-12

mummyof2boys30 · 30/09/2021 19:47

So i have 2 boys and i have completely blown their budget on x2 bikes (😢 so expensive now in adult sizes) and a nintendo switch as a family present. They will get a couple of games from other family members.
So need some cheap stocking fillers to bulk it out a bit if anyone has any ideas.
So far thinking
Pringles tube
Glass bottle coke
Football
PlayStation glass (seen in b&m)
Wallet and water bottle for school
Lynx set

Thanks

DS loves water bomb balloons but not very seasonal I guess.
A whoopy cushion
Joke kits (ds loved a joke mustard pot and fake poo)
A flannel
Mini shower gel
Little tube of midget gems / smarties or something
Socks?

Dancingonmoonlight · 30/09/2021 20:00

I'd probably try to bulk it out with things that you will have to buy anyway.....pjs, toiletries, subscription for something (if they already subscribe to something), pencil case, cleansing face wash, shower gel, chocolates, sweets, arts and crafts if they use them - that sort of thing?

MissyB1 · 30/09/2021 20:03

Pencil case
Slipper socks
Percy pig Xmas sweets
Terry’s chocolate orange

AndThenInTheEnd · 30/09/2021 20:04

Weird cereal they would never normally have like Lucky Charms
Eugy paper craft kits
Lush bath bomb/shampoo bar
Socks for their football team

Idontgiveagriffindamn · 30/09/2021 20:20

  • a minecraft glass or water bottle
  • minecraft how to drawer book
  • voucher to buy something from Amazon prime video

Huge fan of shit like toiletries, novelty socks, stationery (you can get a pringles tube pencil case) and chocolate.

Also, hot chocolate selection pack, a couple of silly games. Tiger is good for this kind of stuff.

Queuing4Fergs · 01/10/2021 08:53

Mine are getting a PS5 so definitely have blown the budget! But have got them/will get them:

  • PS5 cushion each - Aldi, about £7 I think
  • PS5 water glass
  • flavoured straws you put in milk to flavour the milk
  • fortnite annual
  • chocolate in the shape of a gaming console
  • pants/socks
  • oreo biscuit tin or long box
  • pringles cracker
  • costa gift card
  • hype rucksack (got these half price the other week)
  • nerf bullets (cheap non branded ones from amazon)
  • mini nerf handheld gun (£3.75 from Argos - thank you bargain thread!)
  • can of drink (hmv have a good selection of american/Japanese food and drink)

Stocking fillers are mostly food items as they don't need more 'stuff'

bordersarebest · 01/10/2021 15:01

Shower gel/bubble bath/body spray

my 12 year old is getting:

  • a fortnite keyring
  • a novelty chicken toy
  • ball and cup game
  • an emoji bath bomb
  • emoji stickers
  • pack of cards
  • stress ball
  • bath slime
  • body wash pen thing
  • a selection of sweets (loads of them)
  • chocolate coins (of course)

Really stockings arent so much gifts as just small novelty items and sweets in our house.

HungryHippo11 · 02/10/2021 08:20

Doesn't anyone give pants, socks and chocolate santa in a stocking any more. That's the main things I remember from my stocking as a kid Grin

Queuing4Fergs · 02/10/2021 09:19

HungryHippo yes, to pants and socks- see my post above! Grin

chillimice · 02/10/2021 11:18

My 12yo in the last couple of years has had stuff like

  • chopsticks
  • anime posters
  • bath bomb
  • elastic laces
  • pack sugru to fix chargers
  • spare phone chargers
  • fluffy noodle blanket
  • various fidget things
  • pretend grenade
  • one of those clip on reading lights
  • bike bell
  • novelty sushi socks
  • random Japanese soda
  • cuddly sushi
  • tiger balm
  • packs of anime stickers
  • those soft stretchy wallet things you stick to the back of your phone for your cards
  • cheap headphones
  • cheap buffs (the cheap fleece ones from decathlon went down really well)

This year he'll prob get some of:

  • naruto cat figures
  • cinnamon bun making kit
  • mini power bank
  • eco deodorant/hair product
  • mug
  • scratch card
  • random American or Japanese fizzy drink
  • bike lights
  • Japanese mini blocks
  • gloves for cycling
  • Japanese Kit Kats

I got a lot of stuff from AliExpress which saves on the cost!

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/10/2021 11:57

DS is older now but some of the highlights ..
Light saber chopsticks
World's bounciest ball (mega bounce I think)
American sweets like Mike and Ikes from B and M
Multi tool penknife thingy (not a knife but everything else)

BearSoFair · 02/10/2021 14:02

Definite yes to Pringles for bulking out!
Jar of unusual spread/jam we wouldn't usually have
Magazine
Socks
Stress ball
Card game or wooden puzzle

Soberfutures · 02/10/2021 14:06

Have a look on vat19 website. They have there own YouTube channel promoting random stuff. My 9yr old loves it so his stocking fillers will come from there

Pascha · 02/10/2021 14:12

I found some small jigsaws in pringles tubes in Smyths.
A Beano or Dandy annual always goes down well. As does Ripleys Believe It or Not, Would You Rather sets and gory/real-life disaster type books about Titanic and Hindenberg etc.
Torch
Fingerlights
Whoopie cushion (essential)

Don't forget the sweets and a satsuma.
