Lapland Uk - worth it??

I'm in the queue to get I keys for Lapland uk

Before I spank £400, is it worth it?

I wanted to do something really lovely for D.C. as it's probably the last year DS will believe (he's turning 8 before Christmas).

But, it does look quite full on and OTT. Is it a bit brash??

Usually do a lovely farm near here but last time we went they'd changed the format - no gift from Santa, went through a big toy shop instead and kids got to choose - much less personal and over commercialised.

Our local department store apparently does a nice one.

Is Lapland uk worth it (is it naice) or will we be cringing at the naffness?

I went with an 8 and 6 year old a couple of years ago. It was great! I was so reluctant to spend that amount of money. I contemplated it for a few years every Christmas and just couldn't bring myself to pay that amount of money. It was always my intention to go to the real Lapland and I just realised that it wasn't going to happen (eye wateringly expensive and hit and miss with the quality according to friends who have been) so this suddenly felt like a bargain in comparison. It's very realistic. Not naff in any way. The Father Christmas bit was particularly amazing - log cabin with real fire and he looked like the real deal). Can't deny it is so expensive though

Thanks, so helpful!

Kids would be just 8 and just 6. So it feels like the right time to do it, if ever!

If you are ever going to do it, I think 6 and 8 are ideal ages. Old enough to remember it, young enough to get swept up by the magic. My friend convinced me by saying that I'd pay £50+ a seat for a West end musical and this is only a bit more but you get a lot more thrown in, it lasts longer, the kids get a toy etc etc

Definitely worth it. We went twice as our youngest was a bit too young the first time around. The second time we went our eldest was 10 and it bought us an added Christmas as a believer.
It will be busy and I think as an adult you see the commercialism but it's magical for kids. Do it x

It’s fabulous. Do it! My daughter still talks about it 2 years later - she was 3 when we went. The ice skating was our favourite bit.

Yes we loved it, but it’s knackering !

Dd went and said it was amazing, really magical.

Ok I missed it, only rubbish dates/times left. But we'll do it next year (I'll get in line earlier!)
