Stocking fillers for teenage girls

BrennieGirl · 21/09/2021 14:00

I find it harder and harder as they get older to come up with ideas for my two DDs.

It was so much easier when they were younger because I could fill their stockings with all sorts of tat and they'd be delighted. Everything they like these days seems to be so expensive!

I get a mix of fun stuff (nail polish, hair ties, sweets obviously, maybe a book) and stuff they ‘need’ but either novelty (so shower gel/body cream or silly socks with a Christmas theme) or slightly better quality than they would usually get (posh shower gel).

Cosy socks are always a winner. New gloves or woolly hat.

Pens/notebooks etc.

HandlebarLadyTash · 21/09/2021 14:06

Yup agree, harder as they get older, mine will have japanese sweets /snacks, fancy shampoo/ showergel, book & chocolate.

GoldStarAngel · 21/09/2021 14:37

voucher for costa coffee
Travel mug
Face masks (the sheet ones) and foot masks (the sock ones)
Nice lipstick (not that nice - mid range!)
Lush bathbomb (but I learnt the hard way to keep separate from any chocolate as they turn the chocolatey soapy - do not even keep it in same ag or put in same stocking)
Cool post it notes
Lip balm - a nice one like burts bees
Fluffy socks

pixieears · 21/09/2021 14:40

Books
Mug
Socks
Stuff related to their hobbies

WhyOhWine · 21/09/2021 15:57

Stocking size has shrunk in the last couple of years and they now get a "bespoke" advent calendar in place of a larger stocking, which is quite good for building up to Christmas now that the father christmas magic has gone. They did ask for beauty advent calendars initally but when i looked at the contents i could not find any where i thought they would use most of the stuff, so went bespoke and they get a mix of beauty stuff they will definitely use, jewellery, sweets, random other stuff, e.g. :

  • makeup, e.g. a lipstick, eye shadow, lip balm, nail polish (anything small enough to fit a compartment of an old Libertys or Selfridges beauty calendar)
  • small bathbombs

-jewellery (earrings, necklace etc)

  • mini perfume (usually from a gift set of mini perfumes split between them)
  • travel size cleanser etc
  • christmas face mask (the face covering type - last year only obviously but will get them another this year)

-small christmassy hand sanitiser

  • gift voucher (e.g. costa, wags, local eyebrow or nail bar)
  • hot choc sachets with some mini marshmallows
  • favourite sweets (e.g mini bags of haribos)/chocolates
  • charging lead
  • headphones
  • christmas scrunchie

-face mask (cleansing type!)

  • pair of calvin klein knickers
  • pair of socks (tightly wrapped to fit)
  • tweezers, make up blender etc
  • miniature vodka (elder DD only)

It can be quite hard to get to 25 items (x2) so there ends up being a reasonable amount of sweets/chocolate which they are happy with!
