What's the first thing you think about when you think about going through the wardrobe to narnia?

I'm doing a narnia theme for my Christmas decorations this year so probably need to get making very soon.

I have the streetlight and snowy scenesetters already.

Any more ideas?

Moles

Oh thank you. Great ideas.

I can get some fake fur throws, use hot chocolate mugs and bowls of Turkish delight to decorate shelves, I'm currently making a Mr tumnus, and I have some fawns and a street light too.

I can definitely make a sleigh, and maybe see how I go making a beaver too 😂

I have a talking polar bear that I'm going to attempt to make into a lion.

Thank you so much, can't wait to get stuck into Christmas decorating.

Lamp post.
Hot chocolate.
Turkish Delight.
Mr Tumnus.

It’s a great theme. We’re going to see the stage production in December and I’m really excited.

It sounds amazing, will you posts photos of the progress? Smile

Something I once saw that was very effective for a 'winter wonderland' was paper 'snowflakes' suspended from the ceiling.

Wowcherarestalkingme · 19/09/2021 16:14

Icicles and pine trees

Winter Outdoor Room Scene Setter-1 Roll [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000H7H40U/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_E164PWNQV8JS1T09D3TX?tag=mumsnetforu03-21 I have these for the walls]]

I got rolls and rolls of it, and then juts a matching snow scene for the top half and put them up everywhere, they look really good. Hanging snowflakes from the ceiling is a really good plan too.

I will definitely post photos, decorating for Christmas is my favourite part of the year.

Oh I have icicles I could hang too, thank you.

To be honest I think ‘always winter and never Christmas’

itsgettingwierd · 19/09/2021 16:19

Turkish delight!

Probably not for decorations but certainly I'd be having loads of it available!

Other than that snow, trees, white soft fur, street lamp

lazylinguist · 19/09/2021 16:25

Wowww! I don't really go for major Christmas decorating, but this sounds amazing OP!

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 19/09/2021 16:26

I'm thinking about making some soap that looks and hopefully smells like Turkish delight and putting it in bowls so it smells pretty and lasts for the festive season.

Frys Turkish delights would be in the bowl for 2 seconds before I ate them all in one swoop and spend the festive season hating myself 😂😂.

The white witch of Narnia and her beautiful crown 👑

Make sure your visitors know it's soap otherwise they could be in for an unpleasant surprise Xmas Grin

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 19/09/2021 16:37

Oh a crown is a great idea too. Not sure I could make a whole witch, I can definitely be one though 🤣

If visitors help themselves without asking that's on them, not me 🤣🤣 some of my kids are fairly small though so I may have to put the soap up higher anyways or it could have been really fun.

The white witch had a crystal bottle, IIRC, which she poured a drop out of to conjure the Turkish delight. A potion bottle would be easy to do - if you don't have a suitable bottle you'd probably get one in a charity shop - a crystal decanter would be perfect.

LateDecemberBackInLowB12 · 19/09/2021 17:01

I think you're right, I have loads of bottles (I rarely throw anything out because I'm always thinking about what I can make) I have a really nice looking peach schnapps bottle I could soak the labels off and use.

Thank you. I'm so excited for Christmas 🎄

OP posts:
ArblemarchTFruitbat · 19/09/2021 17:58

Oh, yes, I know exactly the type of bottle you mean - that would be perfect!

I'll be looking out for your photo thread later in the year.

Pine trees too here and lots of fairy lights twinkling
