Christmas stocking fillers for teenage boys?!

Yes, yes, I know it's only September and I said the C word but I figure I'm on the Christmas board and so you'll all understand lol!

Stuck for ideas what to get for my teenagers this year -

So far I'm thinking

  • tube of sweets (eg Smarties or Buttons, you're never too old for tubes of chocolates or sweets)
  • can of deodorant? Like Lynx? Not that they smell but it's a classic Christmas present usually in the form of gift sets and fits in a stocking lol.
  • A gift card to buy games for their phone

  • Top Trumps card game (again, never too old lol)

Any more ideas?!

@70isaLimitNotaTarget

Point one - could you get the cats to post more stocking filler ideas - they sound fantastic

Point two - I agree with useful whilst not glamorous stocking fillers to stop Ds "borrowing" mine

Grin

Basil they bought him a Stratocaster guitar strap last Christmas ( he got a Fender guitar +amp as he was 21 in Dec)
They bought DD a handbag one year and a bottle of Stella perfume last year

They "Cat Wrap" with loads of tape and fur sticking to it Xmas Grin

They buy me the Square Root of Diddly Squat

@70isaLimitNotaTarget My two border terriers managed to get a copy of country life which has an article about Border Terriers over the internet ( amazing as they do not have opposable thumbs ) for DH & had managed to find £2.50.

My birthday - nothing - I walk them feed them cuddle them but no Grin

Perhaps they and your cats could do a zoom call - ha ha

DS14 gets harder and harder every year....
so far I have him a small sloth ( he has ASD and is obsessed)
He will get an itunes or roblox voucher
Lynx set,
Chocolates
I might get him a new spud gun, he loved the last one but was broke a few years back.
And what other cool little gadgets I can find him.
It’s hard as his birthday is 2 weeks later, I always stuggle and now it’s harder. He’s asked for a new phone as he currently has my old one, his contract is up for renewal so we will see.
He’s asked for a gaming laptop for Christmas so that and a mouse is all he will be getting as a big present.

Cheap Ear buds if they don’t have expensive ones already, rechargeable batteries. Power bank. New pencil case. Funky socks. Favourite sweets. Xbox gift card. Phone case. Wireless charger.

MissBattleaxe · 20/09/2021 23:29

Mine are always asking me for chewing gum or nints to take to school so they'll be getting some little tubs of them. Also I wrap up Pringles to look like a Christmas cracker. The Starbucks gift card is a great idea.

PermanentTemporary · 20/09/2021 23:32

Japanese sweets off of the Internet.

didireallysaythat · 21/09/2021 00:06

Sounds like a recharger for rechargeable batteries would work- haven't bought a AA or AAA in years and didn't realise that this wasn't the norm.

Shodan · 21/09/2021 00:21

I got both mine mini nerf guns last year, which were a huge hit. For them. Not so much for me, who appeared to be their primary target...

Chocolate coins, always.

A 'man's' manicure set.

'Shiny pennies' - a throwback to my stockings as a kid- a small collection of shiny coins (20ps when they were younger, £1 coins now).

Satsumas are a given, although only ds1 eats them.

Small penknife.

Some of those small bottles of chilli oil from Nandos for ds2.

Christmas socks. ( they were both very taken with those!)

I'm definitely going to get them both Starbucks gift cards this year (if Starbucks do them- I assume they do?) That's a great idea.

Some great ideas here thank you all

BasiliskStare · 21/09/2021 14:38

@didireallysaythat could you give me a steer as to rechargeable batteries - have googled but not sure which ones are good

Thank you

BasiliskStare · 21/09/2021 14:41

To all - what has made me giggle to myself is that in January there will be some newspaper articles saying - UK - shortage of batteries - is this a huge problem / conspiracy theory . No - many teenage boys will be getting batteries in their Christmas stocking. I may buy a packet in the corner shop next time I go.

Tangledtresses · 21/09/2021 14:46

Tesco often do 2for 1 on packs of AAA AA batteries in October 😀😀

Tangledtresses · 21/09/2021 14:47

Mine always love a good pack of sharpies too

didireallysaythat · 21/09/2021 15:40

@BasiliskStare can't tell you if they are good or not, but we have a charger that takes AA and AAA and get the batteries in packs of 12 from Amazon. Rechargeable batteries never last as long as Duracell but I'm hopeful they are better for the environment in some way.

BasiliskStare · 21/09/2021 15:43

@didireallysaythat - Thank you Flowers I shall treat myself to an Amazon hunt

Appreciate you replying

I got ours from Amazon. Just their own ones and have no complaints.

mam0918 · 18/10/2021 13:57

We don't go big with xmas day stockings, they are just novelties really.

everyone gets a lot of sweets including chocolate coins and chocolate orange + things like gumballs, that edible paper money, malteasers, lollys.

My teen is then getting:
fortnite keyring
novelty toy chicken
ball game
emoji stickers
bath slime
card game
stress ball

for the epiphany stocking all kids get the same so far have:
sensory ball
fidget toy
paw patrol bubbles
nice pen
bath toy
pinwheel
I still need to buy the rest.

Ds is a gamer and was delighted with the cans of air that I got him for his birthday. Uses it to clean his keyboard apparently. He also likes Popvinyls but objects when I refer to them as dolls

Scrunchcake · 18/10/2021 23:14
